His gimmick seems to be that he is a "sports entertainer" because he has the look and isn't that great in the ring and he seems to get his heat off of that, but that isn't sufficient to get you over in ROH.
I think that's exactly why he's there, he is the anti-thesis to what ROH promotes in a wrestler. he's a sports entertainer who wants to be in movies and date playmates. It's instant heat. i think he's one of the best heel gimmicks to have in a place like ROH (imagine this guy on old ECW =p~ ). he just needs to drop popeye and get himself a "diva"

I get the gimmick. My point is that it won't work (and hasn't been, as most fans' reactions to him have been the same as mine and Badnewz's). The gimmick of wanting to be a "sports entertainer" rather than a wrestler would work well IF the guy had some credibility in the ring. ROH keeps trying to portray him as being talented on his own (he was initially promoted along with Cole, O'Reilly, Elgin, Ciampa, Andy Ridge, TJP, etc. as being the "new wave of talent" that would fill the void left by the losses of Nigel, Dragon, Aries, Tyler, Necro, Stevens, Rave, and Rasche Brown). ROH is about having great matches. Bennett doesn't have those. You can use the WWE-style moveset and still have great matches. Bennett doesn't do that.
