NJPW G1 Climax 27, Day 2

Suzuki-Gun (Zack Sabre Jr & El Desperado) vs Kota Ibushi & Hirai Kawato - 7/10

Even with Kawato and Desperado here, this is the main event every promotion wishes they could have, and it's the opener. Sabre shouldn't just do black trunks when wrestling Young Lions, he looks like a Young Lion himself. Match was all Suzuki-Gun killing Kawato until Kota got the hot tag and we finally get to see the Ibushi/Sabre exchange that not even WWE could book, and it was promising! Can't wait for their match.

Towards the end of the match, Kawato had a good showing against Desperado, but at the end, he fell to the Guitarra del Angel. After the match Sabre and Ibushi faced off inside the ring.

CHAOS( Hirooki Goto, Tomohiro Ishii, & Gedo) vs Togi Makabe, Yuji Nagata, & Tiger Mask IV - 6/10

They pretty much did every possible combination fight between both teams, I even saw Tiger Mask kick Goto's ass if only for a minute. Finish saw Tiger Mask roll up Gedo for the win. Ishii and Makabe were going to brawl outside the ring, but got separated.

Bullet Club (Chase Owens & Bad Luck Fale) vs Taguchi Japan (Hiroshi Tanahashi & David Finlay) - 6/10

Owens has to be the happiest guy, completely irrelevant dude that constantly gets the BC rub. Fale once again (as he always does), goes after the announcer, that announcer really needs to man up and do something, he shouldn't expect anyone is gonna do something about it for him.

Ok back and forward match, Owens and Finlay worked most of the match, with Tanahashi only opening the match, but never getting the hot tag. Fale defeated Finlay as Tanahashi was outside occupied with Owens. They still played out Tanahashi's injury and Fale promised that in their match, he will BREAK the Ace's arm.

Los Ingobernables de Japon (Tetsuya Naito & BUSHI) vs CHAOS (YOSHI-HASHI & Jado) - 5/10

Similar to the previous match, they just build YOSHI-HASHI vs Naito, YOSHI-HASHI was aggressive tonight as well. FInish saw BUSHI roll up Jado for the win. After the match Naito chased down Callis to the top of the crowd

G1 Climax 27 Block B
Juice Robinson (0) vs Satoshi Kojima (0) - 6.5/10

I still don't know what Juice has to do with a cartoon bear in a sexual position. There wasn't much of a story in thsi match, I'd love to say that it was a youth vs experience, but Kojima had better stamina than Juice, was stronger than Juice, and they were both cutting each other constantly. We could actually say that Kojima dominated most of the match, except for the finish when Robinson just hit his finisher for the win. Well wrestled match, but nothing especial.

G1 Climax 27 Block B
Tama Tonga (0) vs "Unbreakable" Michael Elgin (0) - 7/10

This was a battle between a really fast dude that can be strong when he has to, and a really strong dude that can be fast when he has to. The match was back and forward, but an overall great showing of Tama Tonga that ends up winning with a top rope Gun Stun. He had already hit another one that would had been a pin if Elgin hadn't rolled outside of the ring.

G1 Climax 27 Block B
"King of Darkness" EVIL vs SANADA - 9/10

The battle of the Ingobernables! SANADA's new mask is pretty awesome, but the lack of the rest of the attire kinda sucks. They start the match playing with the handshake from the last show, but this time it's EVIL hat outsmarts SANADA. EVIL brought in chairs really quick and these two started brawling outside like an Ingobernable would. EVIL did the chair-batting spot for the 20-count tease, and from that point on, EVIL was in control.

SANADA would make a comeback to equal things out, and they proceeded to trade momentum more often, where at one point the match kinda felt like a sparring fight between long time friends that are not gonna let the other win. Biggest spot of the match was a cutter from the top rope into the floor outside the ring, EVIL kinda landed standing, but it still looked good. Great near fall with EVIL's new submission thing and a following lariat. Later on SANADA would repay him in kind with the Dragon Sleeper. Finish saw SANADA land a moonsault for the win. AWESOME match.

SANADA looked like a superstar in this match, and if and when he drifts away from the stable and goes for a spot at the top of the mountain, he has great potential to get the whole crowd behind him.

G1 Climax 27 Block B
Toru Yano (0) vs Kazuchika Okada (0) - 6/10, but quite funny.

Gedo is with Okada as always, Jado with Yano. Gedo is stopping Yano from doing all his usual cheats, but Jado is trying to be distraction enough for Yano to attack Okada. Everytime Yano couldn't find a way to cheat or run away, Okada would just kick his ass, but Yano would always find ways to cheat.

Ha! When Okada tried to mock Yano doing his pose, the people shat on Okada bad, you can't say otherwise, Yano is over with the crowd. Happened again when Okada attacked Yano later on. Spot of the fight was a near count out when Okada was going for his jump over the rail, but Jado stopped him, and the Yano low blowed them both, and then Gedo low blowed Yano, and now neither man can make the count. Awesome 2.99 near fall after a roll up. Finish saw Okada lock in some kind of recliner submission for the submission win. It takes a real champion to overcome a comedy wrestler, those fuckers are sneaky.

G1 Climax 27 Block B
Kenny Omega (0) vs Minoru Suzuki (0) - 10/10!

FUCKING AWESOME MATCH! Kenny has been quite polite towards Suzuki ever since the match was announced, but Suzuki kept pushing him, and now he goes against a more pissed off "Six Star" Omega. Suzuki started dominant targeting arms and legs, locking in bars and extensions everywhere he could. He dragged Kenny to the crowd and they hit each other with legs, but Kenny ended up limping on the right leg, his V-Trigger leg.

At one point, he accidentally hit the V-Trigger on the ref, and Desperado, Taka, and Taichi took advantage to attack Kenny and gang up on him. Chase Owens would try to save him, but he gets his ass kicked quite easily, but then big Bad Luck Fale comes out and straight up takes care of all three!

Awesome submission spot with Suzuki locking in a knee-bar that he transitioned into a weird looking Figure 4, and then into a Sharpshooter looking thing, but Kenny at the end wouldn't submit. They exchanged strikes with a unsinkable Kenny and a berserk Suzuki. Towards the end, Suzuki botched a reverserana, but Kenny used his injured leg to sell that it wasn't a botch and that it was him who couldn't pull him right. Finish saw Omega hit the One Winged Angel for the win. Doctors check on Omega as he celebrates his win. Go watch this match.

Post-match - Kenny cuts a promo saying that he survived and this is just the beginning. Total babyface than can shit on the crowd and the crowd pops.

OVERALL THOUGHTS

A really awesome and fun show for Block B. Most of the build-up matches in the first half are completely skippable, and comedy is not for everyone, but go watch SANADA vs EVIL and the main event, both awesome matches.
