JOHN CENA PROMO & SEGMENT WITH DEL RIO- eh.

JOHN CENA vs. ALBERTO DEL RIO & (w/Ricardo Rodriguez)- 6.75/10
I’m not happy with Del Rio getting pinned by a non-finisher, but otherwise a great match.

KANE, DRAGON, & KOFI SEGMENT- good segment. I like Kane and Dragon getting along. It had to happen eventually. The ending of the segment with them shouting “YES!” was great, too, as it signifies Dragon officially becoming a babyface again.

CENA & BOOKER T SEGMENT- didn’t like it.

HORNSWOGGLE vs. THE GREAT KHALI (w/Hornswoggle)- DUD!
I would have called this a pointless squash, but Hornswoggle cheating really pissed me off. I also hated Matthews’ commentary here. Every time he said (paraphrasing) ‘these two guys are totally different sizes. How could they possibly be friends?’ my brain was thinking “these two men have different skin colors. How could they possibly be friends?!” It is an almost irrelevant factor!

WADE BARRETT & THE PRIME TIME PLAYERS vs. KOFI KINGSTON & TEAM HELL NO- 6/10
Dragon was a great babyface in peril, but I didn’t like him making Young tap because it kills the PTP vs. Hell No match-up. Why have Wade and Kofi in the match if they aren’t going to do much of anything, and if you do have them in the match, why not use them? Put Barrett over Kofi here, giving Wade a claim for an IC Title match, and, because they are heels, PTP can brag about beating Hell No despite no one being involved in the decision.

The other finish to do (probably the better one, now that I think about it) would be to have Kane pin Barrett after a double team finish by Kane and Dragon. Wade doesn’t look as weak because he lost to a big guy like Kane and a double team finish, PTP can still go after Hell No because they weren’t involved in the decision, and using a double team finisher cements the concept that Kane and Dragon can work together now.

SHEAMUS PROMO-
Decent promo. I liked the last line a lot “after tonight, he can walk around and show off his head… because I’m going to kick it clean off of his shoulders”), but the rest of it was eh. It occurs to me that if Sheamus had Matt Striker’s beard and a cowboy hat, he would be Yosemite Sam.

DAMIEN SANDOW LOOKS FOR AN APPRENTICE- F*CKING AWESOME!

DAMIEN SANDOW vs. TYSON KIDD- 3/10
I really wish they would pick someone else to job.

DOLPH ZIGGLER PROMO- okay

THE USOS vs. HEATH SLATER & JINDER MAHAL (w/Drew McIntyre)- 3.25/10

SHEAMUS vs. DOLPH ZIGGLER- 6/10
Was going fine until the DQ. If you are going to the DQ finish to set up a tag match for next week, don’t do it in the main event! Do this as the semi-main, then let the guys in the six man tag team match have the main event spot so the fans get used to seeing them as main event guys! Also, don’t have the babyfaces destroy the heels! Just have Cena come out with a chair to chase the heels off and let them escape with their heat so you can do a tag match next week with some heat!

Overall, a decent episode of Smackdown.
