BRM Reviews the 11/19/2012 Raw

Post by Big Red Machine » Nov 21st, '12, 09:53

OPENING SEGMENT- Ryback was okay, Vickie's promo felt obnoxiously over-scripted.

RYBACK vs. TENSAI- 2/10

WADE BARRETT vs. KOFI KINGSTON- 6.5/10

MATT STRIKER, CM PUNK, & PAUL HEYMAN BACKSTAGE- I didn't like it. This whole celebration feels decently out of character for Punk, and his reaction to Striker's question seemed extremely out of proportion.

KAITLYN vs. AKSANA- 2/10

ANTONIO CESARO vs. BRODUS CLAY (w/the Funkadactyls)- 2/10
Rats. I thought this was the beginning of Truth getting serious again, but as his commentary continued, it became clear that it won't be.

AJ & VICKIE SEGMENT- NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO!
John let me explain something to you: You are dealing with a crazy chick who just this past spring assumed that two men who had no romantic feelings for her whatsoever were dating her, and refused to believe that her actual boyfriend broke up with her. She seems to now have the hots for you. If you do not, in fact, love her, do not kiss her because she will misinterpret it and create EVEN MORE problems for everyone involved.
And if Cena does love her, then I am even more pissed at the writers. You have the most talented woman on the roster... and all they can think of to do with her is to make her Cena's love interest?

Cena actually did a good job of selling his leg and looking like he was trying to cover it up.

2 OUT OF 3 FALLS MATCH: Randy Orton vs. Alberto Del Rio (w/Ricardo Rodriguez)- 7/10
Randy should not have gone over here.

HANDICAP MATCH: The Great Khali vs. Primo & Epico (w/Rosa Mendes)- no rating, bad segment.
Hornswoggle comes down to ringside and gives Rosa flowers... or not. Instead, he sprays her with something. That was random, but if it leads to Del Rio destroying Hornswoggle to earn Rosa's attention, I guess I am okay with it. The problem here is that there was no reason whatsoever to squash Primo & Epico for this! They could have accomplished the same thing (the Rosa-Hornswoggle interaction) in a backstage segment which wouldn't have made Primo & Epcio look like chumps. Seriously! The guy who ate the pin couldn't have taken more than three moves. If you are supposed to be the premiere wrestling company from a kayfabe point of view... you can't have guys on your roster who get beaten so damn easily! If a guy on an MLB team hits .030, he's going to get released because he can't cut it.

DAVID OTUNGA vs. THE MIZ- 3.5/10

SHEAMUS PROMO & SEGMENT WITH BIG SHOW- good

SHEAMUS vs. DAMIEN SANDOW- 6/10

VICKIE, TAMINA, & AJ BACKSTAGE- AJ's dialogue was just painful, but both Vickie and Tamina were great.

AJ IN THE LOCKER ROOM- WOW! This was actually very well done. Ziggler's view of AJ's character meshed with what we know about her, and the fight between Dolph and Cena was extremely well done.

SIN CARA & REY MYSTERIO JR. vs. TEAM HELL NO- 6/10
I was fine with the finish, but wasn't happy with PTP getting laid out at the end. Cole was annoying as hell on commentary. Titus O'Neil was great. WWE should let him talk more often.

CM PUNK & HEYMAN BACKSTAGE- wow... Paul E. is scaring me here. I'm pretty sure he is about about to turn on Punk.

CM PUNK CELEBRATION- NO POP for Heyman mentioning that Bruno deserves to be in the WWE Hall of Fame? Anyway, this was an eh segment. Nothing new happened here at all, which annoyed me.

Overall, a decent episode of Raw.
