Wrestling Saved My Life

Post by BOD » Apr 19th, '12, 14:24

I was a normal child with normal parents living in a normal southern town, i played in the yard and did normal boy stuff when i was four years old my parents split up the only thing that made me not lose my mind was Wrestling i clung to it like a child clings to his mother. I recall my dad watching it with me when they split in my childlike mind it was my only sense of normal life.

Not a year after the divorce my uncle was shot and killed it tore me up like a knife through the heart. But still i clung to wrestling, i could get lost in the strylines i remember the Nwo story very well it was one of the first that stands out in my mind. A few years went by and me being a fan grew to a love. When i was 10 we moved from the only life i knew to a town in Georgia i still held on to wrestling i studied it i knew every move they did and why they did it.

When i was 12 i decided wrestling is what i want to do its the only life i wanted not for fame or money but its the one thing thats been my friend when i had none, but with asthma and blindness in one eye i knew my dream would be harder to achieve. The day finally came and i realized who i was i stood in the ring to train. Now i'm working hard to get to a match when a bad fall landed me awaiting surgery.

Now i'm like a shark tasting blood i'm hungry to make a comeback im hungry to be a star. I will achieve my goals One daymy friends you will hear the name Jesse Phillips and you'll know your boy realized his life saving dream.

This is a way that wrestling can be VERY positive part of someones life. You went through some of the worst stuff people have had to go through and you had something to hold onto.

What he said. For each of the few fan-based tragedy that wrestling plays a part in, there are ten stories like this that never get heard. Make it big, Bod, and share your story with as many people as possible.
