Lots of things happened last week. GM John Laurinaitus setup CM Punk vs Dolph Ziggler at the Royal Rumble for the WWE Championship with himself as the special guest referee. Punk lost against Ziggler last week via count out. Chris Jericho was revealed as the person behind the cryptic 1/2/12 videos. He came out, kept getting the crowd fired up for about 10 minutes then left without saying a word. There might be more of that this week, we'll just have to wait and see. After the main event last week, Kane cut through the ring and tried to drag Zack Ryder down with him only to have Cena pull Ryder out. Kane was scheduled to participate in the main event but before the match began, David Otunga informed everyone that Kane wasn't going to be involved.

Theres some speculation of a HOF induction announcement for tonight. I think last year they announced a name before the rumble but i'm not 100% on that.

Results:

Sheamus & Santino Marella defeated Jinder Mahal & Wade Barrett.

Daniel Bryan defeated Kofi Kingston.

Brodus Clay defeated Curt Hawkins.

CM Punk defeated Jack Swagger w/Dolph Ziggler & Vickie Guerrero.
-Because Punk won, Swagger & Guerrero are banned from ring side at the Royal Rumble.

Dolph Ziggler vs. John Cena.
-Cena and Ziggler were outside the ring as RAW ended and there was no bell to signify the end of the match.

We get a recap of Kane coming out of the ring from last week.

We start with Kane's pyro before a little delay and now Kanes music hits. Again he's wearing the welders mask, he needs to get rid of that thing.

Kane cuts another great promo. Cena interrupts and runs down to fight Kane. Cena dumps him over the top rope and they're fighting up the ramp and now towards the crowd.

Kane is beating up others as well as Cena. Kane takes Cena outside and they're fighting on what appears to be a loading dock.

I'm gonna pretend that segment was good. This is a segment you have in the middle of a show. The opening segment is supposed to set up the rest of the show, rather than give us the entire continuation of the major angle!

Sheamus is out for a tag team match. WHY oh WHY do they refer to him as the Great White?!! He's the Celtic Warrior, thats tougher then the Great White.

WOW!! (Done in Booker T's voice imagine) If they're having Sheamus & Barrett feud for a bit then i can see the two of them being within the final 4 or the final two at the rumble.

So it'll be Sheamus & Santino against Barrett & likely Mahal.

Not really. A strike to the throat isn't pleasant. I remember my dad got pickpocketed on holiday once. He chased that fucker down, struck him in the throat (albeit not a cobra), and took everything back. The throat is where you should aim if you want to effectively disable your opponent. You just need to know how to hit someone in the throat properly. The desired effect is that they find themselves temporarily unable to breathe, and panic, thus dropping their defences. By the time they get over the initial panic and can breathe again, they're a sitting duck.

Therefore the cobra is not a retarded finishing move.
