Coming out of last nights show, we have a new WWE Champion who is NOT John Cena & CM Punk. After defeating Cena in a questionable manner last night, CM Punk was attacked by Kevin Nash then Alberto Del Rio cashed in his MITB briefcase to become WWE Champion for the first time. The ending of the originally scheduled bout between Punk & Cena involved Triple H counting the pinfall despite Cena's foot being on the rope which Triple H did not apparently see.

Also last night, Kelly Kelly defeated Beth Phoenix with a rollup to retain the Divas Championship.

There was a rumor floating around a little while back about something big happening tonight regarding Mysterio since RAW is in San Diego tonight. Probably a WWE title shot but i dont think anything has been announced officially.

Results:

John Morrison defeated R-Truth in a Falls Count Anywhere Match.

Kelly Kelly & Eve Torres defeated The Bella Twins.

Jack Swagger defeated Alex Riley.

Kofi Kingston & Evan Bourne defeated David Otunga & Michael McGillicutty.

Alberto Del Rio defeated Rey Mysterio to retain the WWE Championship.

I'm liking this.

I see this as a catalyst for a Triple H heel turn. "This is all going to shit around me because I was too nice. Fuck being nice." is how I see Mr H's going. He and Cena fued a bit, while Del Rio and Rey Rey fued, and Nash and Punk fued.

Trips acknowledges that Cena's foot was on the bottom rope during the pinfall last night.

He also says he had nothing to do with what Nash did. He says left tickets for Nash but didn't actually interact with him, he's invited him to RAW tonight.

Having Del Rio cash in on Punk was a GREAT way to get Del Rio a lot of heat. It pisses off those who are cheering for Punk every Monday & those that still cheer for Cena.

Del Rio says it was never his intention to cash in his MITB briefcase at SummerSlam but he did because destiny does whatever he wants.

Del Rio will defend the title against Rey Mysterio tonight.

I can't see them putting the title on Rey considering he's got a knee injury.

Falls Count Anywhere since Morrison just went for a pinfall right outside the ring.

Looks like the padding fell off part of the barricade. At first i thought part of the barricade was gone which would have made Truth trying to hop over it quite laughable. :p

Morrison sorta suplexed Truth into a sitting position in a leather chair then hits him with a knee to the face for the win. Too short and really should have been made for SummerSlam.
