A Tag Team title match has been added to the lineup for Monday's go-home episode of Raw.
WWE announced tonight that Raw Tag Team Champions The Revival will defend their titles against Ricochet & Aleister Black on Monday's show. Ricochet & Black defeated The Revival in non-title matches on this week's Raw and the February 25 episode.
John Pollock of Post Wrestling reported today that the latest plans for WrestleMania 35 include a Raw Tag Team title match and a SmackDown Tag Team title match.
Ricochet & Black will challenge for War Raiders' NXT Tag Team titles at TakeOver: New York on Friday, April 5, with them getting the title shot as a stipulation of winning this year's Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic.
Monday's Raw is taking place at the Capital One Arena in Washington D.C. Here's what's been announced for the show:
Ronda Rousey, Charlotte Flair & Becky Lynch vs. The Riott Squad (Ruby Riott, Liv Morgan & Sarah Logan) (if Rousey, Charlotte, or Lynch betray their team, they lose their spot in the WrestleMania main event)
Kurt Angle vs. Rey Mysterio
Brock Lesnar appears
Batista responds to Triple H
Raw Tag Team Champions The Revival defending against Ricochet & Aleister Black
Sasha Banks, Bayley, Beth Phoenix & Natalya vs. Nia Jax, Tamina, Peyton Royce & Billie Kay

Well... that's one more match off of Mania. Maybe they've finally figured out that the shows are too f*cking long.

I don't think it's a too many titles problem, as much as it's a brand split problem. Each "brand" has more TV than most promotions do all together. I don't think the amount of titles as a whole is absurd, I think it's absurd that they try to fit them all into one show. Unpopular opinion, but I think they should do all their "stuff" (HOF, TakeOver) Friday night and split Wrestlemania into two nights.XIV wrote: ↑Mar 30th, '19, 21:15Or that they've got too many f*cking titles.Big Red Machine wrote: ↑Mar 30th, '19, 19:48 Well... that's one more match off of Mania. What they need to do is go back to brand-specific PPVs, one a month, only coming together for the Big Four and having just those be marathon-ish. It's not just Big Four shows that become problems because secondary singles titles or tag titles will go a while without being defended.Bob-O wrote: ↑Mar 30th, '19, 22:32I don't think it's a too many titles problem, as much as it's a brand split problem. Also, they need to drop this "everyone gets to play" mentality and cut the battle royales, as they are completely pointless and do nothing but take up time. And stop the stupid P.R. video packages that also waste too much time. And stupid sh*t like pointless Drifter segments.

I'll agree to all of that. I get WWE aims to provide a different format of programming on weekly TV, but it's Wrestlemania. Casual fans aren't going to leave disappointed if Elias doesn't sing. Nobody is going to cancel their network subscription because Konnor and Victor didn't make it on the show. People (like me) WILL skip the biggest show of the year because it's going to be seven fucking hours long. I always try to keep my cup half full, but speaking as a fan, they've done NOTHING for this show to make me want to watch ANYTHING on it. Anything I was looking forward to two months ago they ruined. Not going to waste my entire sunday for fear of missing DB/Kofi and Orton/AJ live. I'll watch a Superbowl with two teams I don't care about, but they can keep Wrestlemania this year... It's for people with more free time than I have.Big Red Machine wrote: ↑Mar 30th, '19, 22:49 they need to drop this "everyone gets to play" mentality and cut the battle royales, as they are completely pointless and do nothing but take up time. Now, as a fan, even as it stands now after they ruined everything I was looking forward to - if they split this mega card into two nights, I'd be more prone to watch at least one of them. You simply cannot cumulate 5 hours of weekly TV, two rosters +205, musical performances, 5 minute entrances, and part timers into a single show without running into this problem.
