RODERICK STRONG PROMO- good. Already building to the rematch.
WAR MACHINE vs. THE YOUNG BUCKS- no rating, bad segment.
This started off as a really good match that turned into a terrible segment. Basically what happened was the following:
Nick Jackson injured his leg on a dive, so Matt had to wrestle alone for a long time. Eventually it was decided that AJ Styles would be allowed to replace Nick. I HATE crap like this. If Nick can’t continue, then the match should be awarded to War Machine. That’s it.
As if this wasn’t bad enough, we soon got a ref bump and it was revealed that this was all an evil ruse by the Bullet Club. It’s AJ STYLES AND THE YOUNG BUCKS! No one is going to boo them! So why would you turn them heel?!
Also, Steve Corino made a comment that was, at best, dumb, and at worst a joke about Jerry Lawler’s heart attack.
ADAM COLE PROMO- great (although I really didn’t like the whole “who was the first one to call me after I got injured? Kyle O’Reilly” part, simply because it feels like Delirious ALWAYS does this. He did it with Jacobs and Whitmer after Whitmer’s injury in 2013, and he did a variation of last year to bring Taven into the Kingdom. And I realize that is only the third time in two years, but it just bothers me because of it feels like yet another example of Delirious’ lack of creativity).
CEDRIC ALEXANDER (w/Veda Scott) vs. THE ROMANTIC TOUCH- 4/10
POST-MATCH SEGMENT- decent.
First Veda cut a promo. Then she told Cedric to rip off Romantic Touch’s mask. He tries to, but Caprice Coleman, who had been on commentary, stops him. Cedric shoves Caprice, but then runs away when Moose shows up.
JAY LETHAL & TRUTH MARTINI PROMO- AWESOME!
ADAM COLE vs. KYLE O’REILLY- no rating. Disappointing segment.
Christopher Daniels was randomly on commentary to be awesome. Unfortunately, he was also out there to ruin this match by causing a double DQ and attacking both guys (although it was after Cole shoved him). The match itself wasn’t much. They just played to the crowd a lot because the crowd was demanding headlocks for some reason (I guess they all just watched Lethal vs. O’Reilly draw from Conquest Tour Hopkins, which, coincidentally, I myself just watched earlier today). Cole and O’Reilly work together to take out Daniels. Kaz came out and got disposed of as well. The end result of this as a one night only Future Shock reunion for an impromptu tag team match.
FUTURE SHOCK vs. THE ADDICTION- 5.25/10
A decent match for the time it got. I just found it disappointing because instead of twenty minutes of Cole vs. O’Reilly, we got just ten minutes of Addiction vs. Future Shock.
Sabin came out to attack Cole and O’Reilly after the match. Then Bobby Fish came out to make the save for the babyfaces. Maria, Bennett, and Taven came out to glare disapprovingly from the stage.
This was one of those shows that, while I didn’t like it, it does seem like it will be fairly important in the long run.
