On Friday morning, WWE announced they have terminated the contract of Terry "Hulk Hogan" Bollea. Their brief statement:
"WWE terminated its contract with Terry Bollea (aka Hulk Hogan). WWE is committed to embracing and celebrating individuals from all backgrounds as demonstrated by the diversity of our employees, performers and fans worldwide."
A few minutes afterward, the National Enquirer and Radar Online released a story that claims Hogan made racist comments on his infamous sex tape, using the N-word several times in a dialogue about someone that was was offering to fund daughter Brooke's music career. Here's an excerpt from their story:
"I don’t know if Brooke was f*cking the black guy’s son," Hulk raved, the sources add.
"I mean, I don’t have double standards. I mean, I am a racist, to a point, f*cking n*ggers. But then when it comes to nice people and sh*t, and whatever."
Then, in a tirade to rival the racism embarrassments suffered by Mel Gibson and "Dog The Bounty Hunter," Hulk unloaded even more hatred!
According to sources, he said: "I mean, I’d rather if she was going to f*ck some n*gger, I’d rather have her marry an 8-foot-tall n*gger worth a hundred million dollars! Like a basketball player!
"I guess we’re all a little racist. Fucking n*gger."

On Thursday, WWE.com removed all references to Hogan, including as an Alumni or as a Hall of Famer, in addition to his merchandise. He was also removed as a judge for Tough Enough. One WWE source also said they believed Curtis Axel was told that his Axel Mania gimmick at the house shows will be dropped immediately.
Hogan tweeted the following in the early hours of Friday morning:

There's actually a pretty interesting legal question regarding the fact that this all came out because of the sex tape. Obviously racism is reprehensible, but everyone ahs the right to their private thoughts, and this was a statement that Hogan made in the privacy of his own home that was never supposed to come out and was released without his consent on a tape also containing material that was clearly for private use and released without his consent. Could Gawker be considered liable for the damages Hulk suffers because of this?

Once it leaves your mouth, its open to interpretation so he should have just kept it to himself. Also, I've never believed he didn't know he was being filmed bc he's one of the biggest attention whores in the biz.Big Red Machine wrote:There's actually a pretty interesting legal question regarding the fact that this all came out because of the sex tape. Plus, didn't Hogan already file suit and lose the case about the sex tape? That surfaced while he was still working for TNA

When you're a public figure, you have to assume that everything you say is being recorded in some manner or another and understand that it's gonna reflect on your place of employment.

He definitely knew he was being filmed (for at least part of the time), but there was never any intention of the tap being made public.badnewzxl wrote:Once it leaves your mouth, its open to interpretation so he should have just kept it to himself. My question is: could Hogan either file another lawsuit or attach more damages to the current one because of this?

Celebs don't make sex tapes without thinking they'll get leaked. Plus, i don't remember him being upset that the tape leaked. Probably why he didn't sue in the first placeBig Red Machine wrote:He definitely knew he was being filmed (for at least part of the time), but there was never any intention of the tap being made public.badnewzxl wrote:Once it leaves your mouth, its open to interpretation so he should have just kept it to himself. if i remember the drama from when the tape barely came out, he didn't know he was being taped, that it was all bubba the love sponge doing, and he DID sue Bubba about it, but it ended up in a settlement i thinkbadnewzxl wrote:Big Red Machine wrote:
