BLACK LOTUS & CHAVO SEGMENT- good.

Melissa Santos is wearing some manner of goofy diadem on her head. It makes her looks like an idiot.

AERO STAR vs. JOHNNY MUNDO- 4.25/10
And great for what it was, which was a showcase for the new Johnny Mundo.

VAMPIRO INTERVIEWS SEXY STAR- Sexy Star was good, but some of Vampiro’s questions were pretty dumb.

LUCHA UNDERGROUND TITLE MATCH: Prince Puma(c) (w/Konnan) vs. Hernandez- 7.75/10
Okay… Striker claimed that Hernandez was 6’5”, but then he stood next to Prince Puma, who is billed at 5’10” in other promotions, and they appeared to be pretty close to the same height, so if I had to guess between other promotions purposely billing someone as being shorter or between Matt Striker just making up nonsensical bullsh*t, I’m going with the latter.
I popped HUGE for Puma mocking Hernandez’s swagger. That was awesome! The match as a whole was really great (minus the part where the babyface cheated), to the point where I was really unhappy that they tried to stuff two huge matches into tonight’s show because I wanted this match to go another ten or fifteen minutes. Would it really have been so hard to give us a segment this week where Dario offers Fenix the chance to not compete in the Death Match because Dario sees him as such a hot commodity and big star that he’d rather not lose him, but Fenix bravely says that he beat Mil once and he and beat him again?
Melissa f*cked up and called Puma the “new” Lucha Underground Champion. It’s been MONTHS and no one had her re-record this one line.

DEATH MATCH: Fenix vs. Mil Muertes (w/Catrina and his goofy minions)- 8/10…
But perfect for establishing what it needed to, which started at that very first spot. Catrina had been telling us that Mil Muertes was back and stronger than ever, and this match did a perfect job of proving it. THIS is how you do a monster heel vs. small but brave babyface match!
The finish is the sort of thing that would probably come off as really lame in any other promotion, but works perfectly in Lucha Underground.
Wait… that’s not the finish?!
I thought that it would have been cooler to just have the minions carry Fenix to Mil and then have Mil pin him right away instead of hitting the Flatliner first.
CLOSING SEGMENT- HOLY F*CKING F*CK!
And I love that they found a way to do this without actually revealing what Matanza looks like! This just build up the anticipation even more!

1. Striker (after Puma used Konnan distracting the referee to hit Hernandez with a chair)- “whether that’s by circumstance or by design, the point is that Prince Puma now has the advantage!”
No, Matt! The point should be that our virtuous babyface just CHEATED! Vampiro has been saying since day one that being mentored by Konnan will corrupt you and we’ve always dismissed it as the words of a man who hates Konnan… and now that we see the first evidence of it, Striker just ignores it?! WHAT THE F*CK?!
