OK, here's the deal with Russo. It was basically an angle to put more heat on top heel Karsten Beck who also won their world title with Russo's help.

Beck, for weeks had been talking about a mysterious “supporter/sponsor“ who he'd reveal at the first show of 2015. He had his match, but no word about the person.

The main event was an eight men street fight featuring world champion Big Daddy Walter. It was a brutal match, Walter's team won but he gave his all.

Suddenly Russo came out, congratulated him and introduced Karsten Beck, revealing himself as the myterious sponsor and also that he's a new investor in the company.

Beck won the World Triangle League back in October, which guaranteed him a match for any wXw/CZW/Big Japan title. Seemingly, this includes at any time too.

So Beck challenged Walter, who accepted. Russo made the match and it was on. Beck hit a dropkick and lariat for a near fall, Walter hit his powerbomb finisher. Russo pulled the ref from the ring, Beck's tag partner Sha Samuels hit Walter with the belt, Russo revealed a ref shirt under his clothes and counted the pinfall, so Beck is the new world champion.

I guess Russo is strictly in as a performer, as usually their booking is good and I don't think they want to dilute that.
