BRM Reviews the 12/20/2014 ROH (Cedric vs. Ciampa!)

RODERICK STRONG vs. DIMITRIOS PAPADON- 2.5/10
I was disappointed that Papadon didn't really get a chance to show his stuff.

MICHAEL ELGIN vs. HANSON- 4.5/10
They did a good job of building up the story with the Double Arm DDT, but there were about three times where Elgin should have been DQed but wasn't. Then, when he gave Hanson a Double Arm DDT through a table, they pulled a TNA and ruled the match a "no-contest" even though only one guy was cheating and the bell was rung right after said wrestler cheated. Good in theory, as Elgin vs. Hanson in a No DQ's match (maybe at the Anniversary Show?) should be fun, but the execution here was pretty poor.
Elgin's talking, both before and after the match, was quite lame.
Hanson did look very tough getting up after the match, though, so at least that part of the execution here worked.

BRUTAL BURGERS vs. CAPRICE COLEMAN & WILL FERRARA- 4.5/10
Fun match. Cheeseburger is definitely improving. After the match. Boob got angry and shoved Cheeseburger, but then helped him back up.

NO DISQUALIFICATIONS MATCH: Tommaso Ciampa vs. Cedric Alexander- 8/10
Ciampa came out with two chairs and gave one to Cedric at the beginning of the match. Normally I would find this stupid, but in this case, I think it worked. I can easily see how, in Ciampa's twisted mind, being "fair" like this will earn him back the respect of Nigel McGuinness and ROH management (and the title shots that come along with it).
Anyway, they had an AWESOME No DQs match. Cedric got a chance to shine in a situation he doens't normally get put in, so good for him.


STUPID ANNOUNCER QUOTES:
1. Corino says that he doesn't know where Greece is. Apparently Kevin Kelly doesn't either because he told Corino it was "in the Middle East."

2. Corino said that Cedric came to him and asked him "how do you put together a No Disqualifications match" Because wrestling is all fake, you see.
