BRM Reviews the 6/26/2014 NXT

THE VAUDVILLANS vs. T. PERKINS & MATT SUGARMAN- boring squash.
"T. Perkins" must be a rib on TJ Perkins (currently Manik in TNA). Also, the jobbers are "T." and "Sugar(man)" get it? I am in no way into these guys, and the announcers were insufferable. This is an extremely poorly conceived gimmick. What is there for them to do? They do their dull antics during their matches and that's it.

SAMI ZAYN PROMO FROM AFTER LAST WEEK'S MATCH- great.

XAVIER WOODS vs BULL DEMPSEY- squash.
Alex Riley claims this is Dempsey' debut, but I'm pretty sure we've seen him before because I'm almost certain I made a joke about the fact that he looks like a less muscular Michael Elgin. If Elgin and Rhino had a baby, it would be Bull Dempsey.
Remember about six months ago when Xavier Woods got called up the main roster and was in an angle and actually got wins? Well now he's a jobber on NXT.

BULL DEMPSEY PROMO- okay

BECKY LYNCH vs. SUMMER RAE (w/the BFFs)- 2.25/10
Holy crap what an fantastic entrance! First Summer comes out all happy and dancing and posing. Then Charlotte and Sasha come out behind her and they could not possibly look more bored. Summer notices this on their way down the ramp, rolls her eyes and gives a dismissive twirl of her hair as if to say "what-ever!" and continues walking happily down to the ring with a huge smile on her face. She goes and does her spot where she sits on the top rope and flips her hair and it's really sexy... and in the background, Sasha turns to Charlotte and gives Summer's performance a sarcastic slow clap. This was about thirty seconds of PURE AWESOME. All three of these women will be STARS.
Becky Lynch's entrance was the opposite. Becky is from Dublin, Ireland, so naturally she is dressed entirely in green (with some faint rusty trim), comes out to Irish music and does Irish dancing, and when she got in the ring, she put her dukes up, because all Irish people must be walking stereotypes or else they're not really Irish (WWE is not the only place where this problem exists, but it stands out at me more because of how few Irish wrestlers they have had). She almost lost her footing climbing up the ringsteps. I know she's Rebecca Knox, but this whole thing made me instantly not give a crap about her. The crowd, on the other hand, was already chanting for her, despite the fact that she has not done anything yet aside from almost slip.
They had a dance-off. Summer got the heat by clotheslining Becky in the middle of her Irish dancing. Summer had the advantage but got distracted yelling at the BFFs, so Becky rolled her up for a close nearfall, then took over an eventually won with the Hard Knox. I could not get into Becky at all because of her Irish dancing (and I am repeating the whole phrase "Irish dancing" on purpose because she did the same little jig all the time and it felt like she was shouting "LOOK AT ME! I'M IRISH!" at the top of her lungs). I wouldn't have been so bad if she had changed it up a bit, but she just did the same jig over and over again and it made her look like a hyper seven year-old who was really eager to show off what she had learned in school today,

SAWYER FULTON vs. COLIN CASSIDY- squash.
Someone actually brought a Sawyer Fulton sign. I assume this was one of his parents.

AFTERMATH- the French Legion came out wearing what Renee noted as "very tight shirts." They tried to surround Colin, but Enzo Amore returned from injury to make the save with completely whacky haircut. He then said a catchphrase that I didn't even know he had, but the NXT Universe said it along with him. All of a sudden, I don't feel so smart.

ADRIAN NEVILLE vs. ROB VAN DAM- 8/10!
I didn't like Tyler Breeze on commentary. He showed no interest in the match at all... and what a match it was!

A god episode of NXT.
