OPENING SEGMENT- Both Vickie and Maddox are in the ring, and apparently Maddox is here specifically to run security and prevent Big Show from getting into the arena, allowing Vickie to devote all of her attention to running the show. A perfectly logical explanation! HURRAH! Dragon’s tease of Big Show big here could have backfired and pissed the fans off, but thankfully it didn’t.
Goldust’s news facepaint looks f*cking scary! If Black Reign’s facepaint had been that scary, he might have gotten over. Vickie books Dragon & the Rhodes Brothers vs. The Shield in the main event. Should be great!

THE MIZ & KOFI KINGSTON vs. THE WYATT FAMILY (w/Bray Wyatt)- 5/10
Wyatt cut a good promo after the match.

BRIE BELLA (w/Nikki Bella) vs. AJ LEE (w/Tamina)- 4.25/10
Brie pins AJ to hopefully set up a Divas Title match at Hell in a Cell.

BIG SHOW SEGMENT- he shows and thanks the fans for their support in this tough time for him & his family. Vickie & Maddox show up and yell at him to lose, so he punches Maddox out.

CM PUNK vs. BIG E. LANGSTON- 6.75/19
Very good match, and a great post-match segment to build the PPV. What more could you ask for.

ALBERTO DEL RIO PROMO- I’m pretty sure Del Rio just said that all non-Mexicans don’t have souls. That’s a bit harsh, don’t you think? Other than that, this was a good promo.

THE USOS vs. THE REAL AMERICANS (w/Zeb Coulter)-
I’m pretty sure Zeb Coulter accused Los Matadores of being Mexicans who snuck across the border, kidnapped a child, and trained the child to be l Torito.
Now THAT is how you humiliate a heel! That was AWESOME, and Zeb sold it PERFECTLY! Attacking Swagger after the match was totally unnecessary, though, and it takes the focus away from where it should be, which was humiliation of Zeb.
RANDY ORTON PROMO- okay

THE SHIELD vs. DANIEL BRYAN, CODY RHODES & GOLDUST- 7/10
Putting the tag belts on Cody and Goldust really took the wind out of their sails (for me at least). I find myself caring a lot less about them now that they have achieved their goal. I understand that Big Show had to do something BIG, but I think that costing Ambrose the US Title would have been better because it doesn’t kill a PPV match people want to see and Ambrose hasn’t done much with the belt anyway.

Overall, a good episode of Smackdown.
