Steve Corino officially takes up his duties as color commentator, and Jimmy Jacobs is standing behind him as a body guard.
JAY LETHAL PROMO- He says we're not sure where Steen's loyalties lie, then challenges Jimmy Jacobs to a match, resulting in...
JAY LETHAL vs. JIMMY JACOBS- 6.5/10
WORLD TITLE PICTURE SEGMENT- Nigel comes out and says that Michael Elgin is the #1 contender, but that Elgin doesn't mind taking out SCUM while he waits. Okay, fine... but if Elgin is the #1 contender, he shouldn't be waiting while everyone and their tag team partner gets a title shot! And speaking of... Nigel announces that the American Wolves will each be getting title shots.
Jay comes out and says that he can whoop anyone's ass. Mark comes out and says that Jay has gotten a big head since winning the title and all he can talk about now is how he can whoop everyone's ass.... well Mark is sick of it, so he points out to Jay that he won their first match against each other in ROH. For those who don't have great memories for minutiae, that match was at Honor Invades Boston on August 24... of 2002! Jay responds to these comments by offering Mark a title shot in Baltimore at the next iPPV. Nigel says he'll think about it.
ADAM COLE vs. KEVIN STEEN- 7/10
While he doesn't actually cheat for himself, Cole knowingly takes advantage of Steen's distraction, turning heel.
Overall, a great episode of ROH in the ring, and with a lot fewer promos than normal. My one gripe isn't really with the show itself so much as it is with the overall booking, and that can be found in the spoiler box.
