They cut the most useless match, all the matches got decent time, and it wasn't saturated with celebrities and promos/video packages. Several wrestlers fought through injury and those matches were DAMN good. Everyone knew before Sunday that Cena and the Rock would be booed out of the building at WM; regardless of what they did. Still, the match had the fans paying attention; they were watching VERY closely, waiting for a chance to chant or boo.

My only gripe is with the Fandango match; I think they should've had the RAW match on WM and Fandango's debut should have been on last week's RAW; I just felt like him getting on the mic after the match last night was MUCH more of a payoff/WM moment than a small package victory in the shortest match on the card (If not the shortest, then the second shortest
It was definitely oversaturated with video packages. They were just all about WWE's various charity endeavors, rather than about the matches.
How many? I saw two; and they weren't very long. There was almost NO backstage stuff and Diddy only used about seven to ten mins. Compared to last year and the year before, the there was VERY little fluff and most of the show was matches in the ring. There was no backstage segment with Diddy holding some American Idol ripoff (I enjoyed when Snoop did it, but I'd rather have wrestling at WM) and he was the ONLY guy there to perform a song (wasn't there two or three performers last year? Flo Rida, MGK, and someone else? in addition to video packages, promos, backstage stuff, AND WWE commercials).

I saw someone post that this was the worst WM in years and there is NO way that that is possible. IMO, A WM that spends most of the time WRESTLING, is def not a bad WM. I mean, I didn't even see where anyone could complain about the show itself; it lacked almost all the things we usually complain about at WMs and the one thing we all claim to want more of.

I think this WM was well executed/performed
I guess you are right about the video packages. Maybe it just felt that way to me.

From what I am seeing, there are a lot of people who didn't like Triple H vs. Lesnar particularly much and a lot of people who didn't like Rock vs. Cena particularly much. If you take those two matches away, it really becomes a one-match show, and everyone knew that Taker was going to win that one match.

honestly I liked this Mania because it had matches more than stupid celeb backstage bullshit...I disliked (tho yes it was really good) Cena/Rock, because we all knew Rock was leaving once more to go film another 50 moves he can shove out of his ass for next year...

to me the HHH/Lesnar and Taker/Punk made it worth buying the PPV... yes we all knew Taker was going to win, but you have to admit, it was pretty awesome with all the fake finishes and Punk doing what he did best

HHH/Lesner was also another great match, just how they man handled each other, Brock belly2belly suplex and the big hiptoss into the announcers table was just awesome, to me this didn't have the "heavyweight" competitor type feel you usually get with big guys ..but maybe it was just me.

Im really glad the 8 man tag was scrapped because I was dreading it, but I really dislike gimick matches that serve no real point

but this was one of the best WM's in a bit now..my only complaints would have been

during the Cena/rock match..if you were going to turn Cena heel or atleast a tweener rather then a babyface, there were at least 5 different spots you could of made him do something drastic and then have him come out on RAW saying "I did what I had to do, in order for me to win, because I needed this win"

and yes it was a great raw and i really wouldn't of changed it..but I think it would of made more sense for Ziggler to cash in the MitB at Mania giving the reason "He didnt want to leave Mania without stealing the show"

I actually thought I remember reading that The Rock had signed on to Wrestle at Extreme Rules.

BRM totally booked this first!
Self-aggrandizement aside, though, I thought that until I saw Raw. Then I realized that Cena can't turn on someone in particular. He needs to turn on the fans. He just needs to get fed up with the boos and turn heel. Doing it any other way won't be in character.[/quote]

This would have been a lot better because not only would it have been more in-character, but it also set up whoever got the pinfall on Ziggler in the tag title match as an immediate contender along with Del Rio and they have Swagger in the background, too.

I read that too but with what I read yesterday somewhere, I really don't think that the powers that be in the movie biz would really want the Rock to wrestle at E.R for the fact he got hurt at Mania and it may cost the production of the movie more if they run behind and miss the mark of what they are wanting to do

seeing as they want this movie done by the spring/summer of 2014 "movie season" and wouldn't want the rock to hurt himself and cost them more..this is why I believe the Rock needs to pick on or the other, either make millions doing movies or make millions wrestling, tho he has proven (somewhat) that he can do both, I really think he should stick to one product, mainly cause of the money tied up either way he goes.

CEna: I really don't think (and I fought with my brother over this) Cena can be a heel, tweener at best, but not a heel.. I for one just don't think he could do it, or make it last, he is to loved by the fans (kids for the most part) and I just don't see WWE letting him take that route. now I'll admit I'm wrong if he can pull it off

but I really see Cena as A.J Styles, you can turn him heel but it would be more awkward and I really can't see to many people getting behind this (to me Styles was a terrible heel)

but like I said Cena would be a good heel or even a better Anti-Hero...he does good but is out for himself..

Disagree 100%. The kids are the easiest people to turn on.

yes I understand that but..with Cena being the "spokesmen" for "rise above hate" "dont be a bully" I really don't think they would turn him..now if it was pointed towards teens and us older guys that love a good heel turn, then yeah that would be fine.. but I think they have cena to entwined with the "dont be a bully" and "rise above hate" that they couldn't do it

I think all three of the main event matches were damn good, and all the other matches were good; I can't think of many Mania's without an absolute stinker of a match (Fandango v. Jericho was decent; def not terrible and it was the worst match on the card).
