We're on to
RINGMASTER CHALLENGE
Eddie vs Roderick
1st fall - pinfall only
2nd fall - submission only
3rd fall - 15 minute iron man match
Strong takes the 1st fall with a really ugly (as in painful) backbreaker
The submission fall is a technical masterpiece between these guys!!
Eddie takes the second fall with the Achilles's lock

Roddy vs. Eddie was better than the Ladder War. The Ladder War just didn't feel like a Ladder War. It felt like a No DQ's match.
What was great was great, what was awesome was awesome, the rest of it was slightly disappointing (especially Haas vs. Elgin).
Oh. And people should be booing Steen, not cheering him (stupid smarks).

I understand you on the ladder war comment, but this is my first ROH show, and I've never seen the other ladder wars, so I don't know what a ladder war is supposed to feel like.
As for Steen, I haven't seen much of the build-up to this, but the way it seems to me is that people are Kevin Steen fans first and ROH fans second. At least that's how it seemed when he cut his promo outside the venue and got a fan to film it.

The fan filming the Steen promo was likely a plant (same with the "fan" who "let Steen use his login when he hacked the ROH message board).
Here is a link to the first one. It is one of the craziest matches I have ever seen (I gave it 9.75/10, and would have given it the full 10 if it hadn't been for some of those spots where the guys is fumbling around with the briefcase in such a way that you can tell that he is stalling for someone else to get up and stop him):
http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xkq1qj ... atch_sport
If you can find it, though, you should by the show itself (
Man Up) the show is absolutely amazing (it is sold out on both ROH and Highspots, so you'll have to use ebay, but it is definitely worth it.
The second one was on
Glory By Honor VIII: The Final Countdown, and wasn't as good as the first, but was still awesome (I have it one part with this one, but Eddie Edwards was wrestling the match with a broken elbow). That whole show is also awesome (Kenny Omega vs. Claudio Castagnoli, Austin Aries vs. Petey Williams, Briscoes vs. Young Bucks, an awesome 4 way match, an appearance by Bret Hart, and Danielson and McGuinness' last show in ROH [they wrestled each other]) and is also sold out on both ROH and Highspots, so you'll have to ebay that one too.
And people shouldn't be Steen fans first. This is just obnoxious smarkiness. Steen was always over, but he never would have gotten cheered while pooping on the company until about six months into the Generico feud when Steen started cutting Foley-level awesome promos and was also sort-of feuding with Tyler Black (whom the obnoxious smarky-ass fans loved to boo as a babyface by mid 2009, which ruined so much crap. Austin Aries' current TNA character is the character that created when he turned heel in ROH at the end of 2008, and while it was/is a great character, and a perfect example of a chicken-sh*t heel... it didn't work anywhere near as well as it should have because the smarks cheered it, rather than booed it).

Elgin and Mike Bennet both have yet to show me why they are in ROH; both guys are mediocre in the ring and not good at all on the mic. I'm more impressed with Tommaso Ciampa....

I think Elgin has been awesome for his role. He has been a great enforcer for two guys who theoretically shouldn't need one (which draws even more heat as the only thing more hated than a guy who has to cheat to win all of the time is a guy who is talented enough that he doesn't have to cheat to win most of the time... but does anyway because he is such a jackass). He has consistently put on solid matches (usually somewhere between 6 or 7/10) and, although i haven't seen them yet, has reportedly done extremely well when he has been put into main event spots (Elgin & Roddy vs. American Wolves from
Tag Team Turmoil and his match with Eddie at the TV tapings).
Bennett, on the other hand, I just don't get. He is pretty good on the mic, but not great, and he isn't that good in the ring. His gimmick seems to be that he is a "sports entertainer" because he has the look and isn't that great in the ring and he seems to get his heat off of that, but that isn't sufficient to get you over in ROH.
