WWE is loading up the card for the June 13th episode of SmackDown in New Orleans.

In an article posted on WWE.com today about the company's five biggest moments in the city, it was announced that there would be a "triple main event" when SmackDown comes back to New Orleans in June. The episode will be the last main roster WWE show in the city before WrestleMania 34 takes place at the Superdome next April.

The three main events are all rematches from Backlash, with two of them being title matches. Randy Orton will challenge for Jinder Mahal's WWE Championship after dropping the title to him at Backlash and Kevin Owens will defend his United States Championship against AJ Styles. Owens retained the title by countout against Styles at Backlash.

In the third match set for the show, Shinsuke Nakamura and Dolph Ziggler will again face off. Nakamura made his televised main roster in-ring debut by defeating Ziggler last night.

The episode of SmackDown in New Orleans will also be the go-home show for the brand's Money in the Bank pay-per-view.

So they're going to spend weeks building up to big matches on free TV the week before they have a PPV? What is this? Impact?

Those are different problems. And spending weeks building up matches and then giving them away on free TV when there is a PPV right around the corner is something TNA has been notorious for.

no no, Impact is notorious for giving bigger matches/finishes the Impact after the PPV, but they'll rarely give you 78 Hardys vs Cesaro/Sheamus matches to build up a Hardys vs Cesaro/Sheamus match

And for promoting major episodes of Impact right before the PPV.

I think you need to go back and re-watch every single woman's tag team, and X-Division feud from mid-2011 until at least late 2016. Has the Shera & Grado vs. Frenchmen feud ended yet?

Also, I might be giving WWE a bit too much credit with this but I think it is important to note that Sheamus and Cesaro have yet to beat the Hardys in any capacity, singles or tag, and the repeated losses would explain their frustration and heel turn, so it could be argued that the repeated matches do have a point, but I will admit that this is also just the way that WWE tends to run all of their tag team feuds as well so it could be done almost entirely by accident (although you would think that the Hardys would have lost at least one by neferious means by now, just to set some heat on the heels).

C'mon, that was Dixie Carter's TNA, now we're making Impact Great Again! Those Frenchmen aren't even with Impact anymore, unless Sylvester LeFort is secretly Abraham Idris and I haven't noticed

No they're not making it great again (I have been meaning to get around to watching the Ultimate X match, BTW). It's just a different bad TNA. It sucked with Jeff and Dutch and Dusty running things, it sucked with Jeff, Dutch, and Russo running things, it sucked with Russo, Ferrara, Dixie, and Conway running things, it sucked with Hogan, Bischoff, and Russo running things, it sucked with Bischoff and Lagana running things, it sucked with Prichard and Dixie running things, and it sucked with Dixie & Gaburik running things. This isn't ROH getting rid of Cornette or WCW getting rid of Dusty. This is a company that has sucked for the large majority of its existence. They- and that includes the three people in charge now- have never done anything to make me think they are going to be able to turn it around.
And TNA wasn't much better under Jarrett and Dutch. It was D'Amore that was the real brains behind most of the booking. And if thy had Lefort and didn't keep him around, they're insane.
