Shelton Benjamin cleared to return to action

Shelton Benjamin announced on Twitter Thursday that he has been cleared to return to the ring following a torn rotator cuff injury.

Benjamin, 41, was set to return to WWE on the SmackDown brand this past August with vignettes airing early after the formation of the latest brand split. However, he discovered the damage to his rotator cuff shortly before debuting and underwent surgery soon after, announcing it on Twitter.

It is currently unclear if plans are for Benjamin to return to the SmackDown brand or even WWE in general. As Dave Meltzer noted back in September, he was set to return to the company after being cleared from injury.

As of December, Benjamin said he had dates open for appearances, autograph sessions, and wrestling seminars.

Since being released from WWE in 2010, Benjamin had most notably been a part of the Suzuki-gun stable in New Japan Pro Wrestling, and later Pro Wrestling NOAH.

Apparently. I expected him to be about 39ish.

What are the chances of Haas coming out of retirement for the old "one last run"?
When they come, they'll come at what you love.

I still have little baby Shelton in my head. I don't know why but I expected him to be in his late twenties or early thirties. That's only slight older than me! O_O

Let's hope not. What you need is for Kurt Angle to join Smackdown, offer Shelton Benjamin the chance to team for a one off match, and have Benjamin attack him post match (after a loss to American Alpha). Then American Alpha clear Benjamin out before The USOs come out and back up Benjamin.

American Alpha get the Angle rub (as the faces), it gives a good rivalry between The USOs & American Alpha (Where the matches will be gold) and then everyone knows Benjamin vs Angle would also be gold.

It would establish Benjamin as that upper midcarder (where he can go on and probably have great matches against Style, Corbin, Ambrose and the like).

And have the whole angle finish with an Angle heel turn to kick start "one last run" where he puts over the Smackdown talent. (AJ vs Kurt Angle in a WWE ring would be guaranteed money).
Have A Nice Day!

I hear what you're saying, but I'm bored of the directionless, gimmick less Usos. The fact that they're tag champs makes it even worse. They've been doing the same thing pretty much for ten years now and the heel turn hasn't really made that much to me.

I'm not blaming them, I'm of course blaming creative.
