TNA teases debut for Impact Thursday

TNA is teasing a debut for Thursday's episode of Impact, and all signs point to it being Cody Rhodes.

The company released a video on Wednesday afternoon advertising that "He is coming." The video claims that the debuting wrestler's past is behind him, his future is now, and all roads lead to tomorrow night. The video features a man in a suit, but never reveals who it is.

Thursday's episode of Impact has already been taped without Rhodes or anyone else debuting in front of the audience, so it seems likely that whoever debuts will be doing so in a pre-taped segment that wasn't seen by the crowd.

Rhodes' friend -- and former in-ring rival -- Stephen Amell retweeted the video and called the debut a game changer.

Dave Meltzer reported earlier this month that Rhodes' wrestling future would involve working for TNA, though Meltzer noted that Rhodes wouldn't be signing an exclusive deal. TNA announced on Monday that they had signed Rhodes' wife Brandi to a contract, and that she would be joining the promotion as an active wrestler.

The video teasing the debut is available to watch below:

Caleb is definitely not getting a debut video, but surely he can't be that far behind

He signed back in April! He should have been on TV months ago! If I can't have the Premier Athlete Brand in EVOLVE, I want there to be a good reason for it.

I haven't seen it yet, but it'd mean a lot more if Cody hadn't also jumped to ROH and EVOLVE and anyone who will take him. The thing people forget about Christian is that he wasn't cut from WWE, he left WWE to go to TNA, and he showed up at such an important time for TNA. While Cody did choose to leave WWE he did so as a jobber while Christian did so on the cusp of being a main eventer, and right now, TNA has NO momentum (even with "jumps" from Cody, Sandow, Moose, and Bennett).

i kinda disagree, in a way, i totally think that TNA has more momentum right now, back then TNA was that name you kept hearing from smarks and then you heard Christian jumped, but true momentum was gained until Angle jumped. Now, be it bad rep, but everyone knows TNA and everyone has been hearing about this Final Deletion and Broken Matt Hardy, about Lashley, about Corgan replacing Dixie, about Cody Rhodes (son of the son of the plumber) coming to TNA now. These people don't necessarily watch evolve and technically, Cody hasn't debuted for ROH or NJPW yet, so TNA still has that going on for them. I'm not saying that this is gonna change TNA or anything, but there is more 'good' buzz in TNA as there ever has since they tried moving to mondays.

At this point, BFG is worth buying, card is looking pretty solid

I don't think you remember quite how much buzz TNA had back when Christian jumped. Every bit of that- both kayfabe and not, was played PERFECTLY by TNA. At that time TNA had all of the momentum. WWE was getting dull. They were pretty much between classes of call-ups and it was clear that they didn't have much for the guys they had called up. Meanwhile, TNA had all of these young up-and-comers, plus guys everyone loved and wanted to but couldn't see in WWE anymore: not just Christian, but Rhyno and the Dudleys, and Sabu and Jeff Hardy.
Now, TNA is a damaged brand with a reputation for complete and total directionlessness. And that's what they have, now.
The BFG card could have been SOOOOOOO much better than it is if they had bothered to plan ahead and/or give us logical PPV match-ups (seriously... how the f*ck is Ethan vs. Drew in a big weapons blow-off not on this PPV?) and didn't feel the need to rush through everything. I was more excited about the possibilities for BFG back in July than I am right now.
