Breaking News: Roman Reigns Suspended For Wellness Violation

Post by cero2k » Jun 21st, '16, 13:52

Source: f4wonline.com

In a shocking story, WWE announced they have suspended Roman Reigns (Joe Anoa'i) for 30 days effective immediately due to a violation of the company's talent wellness policy.

On Twitter, Reigns simply said, "I apologize to my family, friends and fans for my mistake in violating WWE’s wellness policy. No excuses. I own it."

The 31-year-old Reigns dropped the WWE championship Sunday at Money In The Bank. On RAW Monday night, a match was made between he, Rollins, and new WWE Champion Dean Ambrose for the next WWE PPV event in July. That plan will obviously change.

Positioned as the new face of the company, Reigns has had many stops and starts in the past few years in an attempt to have the fans win him over. A former college football player, Reigns has been in the business for nearly six years.

More to come from Dave Meltzer shortly.

That's why he dropped the fuckin' belt then gets suspended a day or so later.

I don't think so. If they new about it beforehand they wouldn't have done their angle on Raw.

But just taking him off TV and just having him come back at he PPV wouldn't come off well for the match. They'd almost be forced to hype him up, which goes against their usual procedure for these things (they didn't even held off on airing those "Titus ends everything" commercials until he came back from his suspension, and those were freakin' anti-cigarette commercials!

Who knows what will happen with the whole thing or how he'll he be taken off television. It's waaayyy too soon for dissecting and analyzing exactly what this means or how it will affect everything.

My point is that because we don't know what they'll do, the best we can do is extrapolate based off of their past behavior.

I honestly hope he stays off TV until creative realizes they need to fix his character. It won't happen, but a girl can hope.

I agree because the suspension is super public, it would be wrong for them to just 'grant' him a title match after a suspension, he is completely missing all TV (INCLUDING THE DRAFT!) before the show, but they HAD to know this was happening, which baffles me they didn't do a different angle at RAW

Well it wouldn't be "handing" him a title shot. He already earned the title shot. If his punishment is a 30 day suspension then he has served his punishment and there should be nothing stopping him from being in the title match.

For those who have asked, Roman Reigns is not at the Smackdown taping tonight in Tucson, Arizona. We are told he has flown home.

With Reigns suspended, WWE will have to also change the main event of their 7/16 return to Madison Square Garden, which was slated to be Reigns vs. Seth Rollins.
