Sami Callihan — Asked For Release To Reinvent Image

Former NXT star Solomon Crowe — aka Sami Callihan — has plans to revamp his current image … and we’re told it was one of the primary reasons behind the wrestler asking for his WWE release.


Sources close to Callihan tell us he was bummed about things never coming together in NXT — so he requested the release in order to reinvent his image on the independent scene as one of the best wrestlers in the world.

As we previously reported, there was no heat over Sami’s decision. Our sources now tell us he left on such good terms last week that the door was left open for a future return.

Following his release, we’re told Sami is excited to spread his wings and make a big impact in the wrestling world — something he’s already shown by winning the 2CW title and making a surprise return to AAW Wrestling.
