ACH vs. CEDRIC ALEXANDER (w/Veda Scott)- 7.5/10
GREAT opener. I’m almost certain Cedric’s slip was intentional, as slipping on the top rope and falling plays into the “dangerous working environment” angle way too well.
ACH PROMO- good
VEDA & CEDRIC COMPLAIN- turns out I was right. Veda is fantastic, as always.
CAPRICE COLEMAN PROMO- good words, but some of the things he said (in particular him being a mentor to Ferrara) feel completely out of nowhere.
WILL FERRARA vs. CAPRICE COLEMAN- 5.25/10
Caprice’s direction became pretty clear during this match, which was a good thing. Caprice has a new Camel Clutch-esque submission finish which Kevin Kelly instantly had a name for, and that name “Judgment Seat” is f*cking atrocious.
Prince Nana was at ringside, and after the match, he gave Will Ferrara one of his mysterious envelopes.
KEVIN KELLY ASKS PRINCE NANA WHAT IS IN THE ENVELOPE- Nana won’t tell him. He repeats the phrase “Age of the enlightenment,” which I can only assume is the Earth-3 version of the Age of the Fall. He says that if the people he gave the envelopes to follow the steps he has set forth, they will have the keys to succeed.
THE BRISCOES vs. THE ALL-NIGHT EXPRESS- 7.75/10
A GREAT match, but the wrong went over. Beating ANX before they get a title shot is completely idiotic, and it’s not like the Briscoes needed a win because A) they’re the Briscoes and B) they have nothing going on right now that would require them to be picking up wins.
A great show from ROH, as always, but the finish to the main event REALLY annoyed me.

with all the stable wars in ROH right now, i'm ready to enjoy another Embassy 7.5beta, but they must get a hell of a crown jewel better than Ferrara or Coleman. it's hard to believe that they won't do the trios tournament next yearBig Red Machine wrote: WILL FERRARA vs. CAPRICE COLEMAN- 5.25/10

I was certain they were going to do it this year, but that was with the assumption that they would follow through on their teases to have Cole turn babyface and team with reDRagon against the New Kingdom, which would be Taven, Bennett, and Aries.cero2k wrote:with all the stable wars in ROH right now, i'm ready to enjoy another Embassy 7.5beta, but they must get a hell of a crown jewel better than Ferrara or Coleman. it's hard to believe that they won't do the trios tournament next yearBig Red Machine wrote: WILL FERRARA vs. CAPRICE COLEMAN- 5.25/10

At the moment, they have:
Kingdom
Bullet Club
HOT
Decade (Whitmer, Page, & Colby)
A potential Embassy Team (Moose, Caprice, & ?)
Elgin teaming with either reDRagon or War Machine
Kaz, Daniels, & Sabin
That's seven, and you could easily either make an eight team (ANX & Aries, Silas & the Boys, Briscoes & Roddy teaming up as "Team ROH") or you could get guys to come in from New Japan or maybe CMLL.
The real question is: what will Delirious do with it? Will it just be a random tournament whose results further storylines? Will he go the "wishes" route like Gabe did? Personally, I think the "wishes" route is best because it helps you plan where you're going for the rest of the year.

given the storylines of many of those groups you could give the winner teams a tag title/world title shot. Wishes would definitely be the best thing, depending on what those wishes are.

Well.. the great thing about about wishes is that if someone doesn't have a grudge match on his mind, he can always just wish for a world title shot and it not only makes perfect sense, but it always gives you a built-in main event world title match for a house show that actually has some storyline build to to it, and you can even occasionally wind up with a guy like Bennett or Taven or Mark or Whitmer who normally wouldn't get a world title shot getting a world title shot, to keep your top contenders feeling more fresh.cero2k wrote:given the storylines of many of those groups you could give the winner teams a tag title/world title shot. now that i think about it. I'd love to see a team of the ANX + Dalton Castle. ANX can wish for tag title shots and Castle can wish his boys backBig Red Machine wrote:Well.. the great thing about about wishes is that if someone doesn't have a grudge match on his mind, he can always just wish for a world title shot and it not only makes perfect sense, but it always gives you a built-in main event world title match for a house show that actually has some storyline build to to it, and you can even occasionally wind up with a guy like Bennett or Taven or Mark or Whitmer who normally wouldn't get a world title shot getting a world title shot, to keep your top contenders feeling more fresh.cero2k wrote:given the storylines of many of those groups you could give the winner teams a tag title/world title shot. It's "wishes" as in you get whatever match you want (like Gabe used to do). Not wishes as in change whatever you want.cero2k wrote:now that i think about it.
