TNA CELEBRATES THEIR VICTORY OVER GFW- fine for what it was
Dixie announces that the five members of Team TNA will face off in tonight’s main event with the winner going on to challenge for the TNA World Heavyweight Title at Bound For Glory. Only Drew got his entrance shown and only Drew got to talk. I wonder who is going to win?
Dixie calls out EY. EY says he has an iron-clad contract. Also, he doesn’t know how to pronounce the world “iron.” What I’d like to know is when EY was signed to this “ironclad contract.” Prior to early 2014, he was a comedy jobber. Since that point, either he has been a babyface and the authority figures have been heels, or he has been a heel and the authority figures have been babyfaces. So did they sign EY to this contract while he was a comedy jobber? Or did management give him an ironclad contract even though the people in power have always disliked him?
This is yet another layer of stupidity forced on us because of this idiotic 5th man EY turn from last week.
Dixie books EY against Melendez in a Lumberjack Match for right now.
LUMBERJACK MATCH: Eric Young vs. Chris Melendez- 3/10
Josh told us that Earl Hebner would be inducted into the TNA Hall of Fame because he’s such a great referee.
Referee Earl Hebner allowed Eric Young to keep a large, heavy foreign object sitting there in the corner of the ring. After Earl took a terrible-looking ref bump, EY went to grab said foreign object, and not one of the million babyfaces surrounding the ring tried to stop him.
EY got in 90% of the offense, then Melendez hit a missile dropkick and got the win. Everyone celebrated with Melendez and Tigre Uno gave him his leg back. I didn’t realize the leg was on the line. If it wasn’t, then Melendez should be honor-bound to return it to its rightful owner: Eric Young.
DOLLHOUSE STUFF- Taryn is happy with Jade but unhappy with the other two. Apparently Jade is getting a title shot tonight despite having won only two matches ever in TNA, one of which was by DQ.
JEFF HARDY, EC III, & TYRUS BACKSTAGE- a quick recap of the parameters of the angle for those who might not have seen last week’s show.
LASHLEY PROMO- okay
TNA KNOCKOUTS TITLE MATCH: Gail Kim(c) vs. Jade (w/the Dollhouse)- 4/10
Right before this match starts- and when I say that, I mean AS JADE IS GETTING INTO THE RING, they show us a graphic telling us that Gail will defend the title against Awesome Kong at BFG, completely killing any interest anyone might have possibly had in this match. If you were going to do that, why not just make this match non-title? Or if you really wanted to have a title match here, why not give Tessmacher her rematch?
Gail and Jade did a fine job with the limited time they had. She got jumped by the other two Dollhouse henchwomen after the match, but the Beautiful People (sans Angelina) made the save and brawled with the Dollhouse. Then Kong came out to have a stare-down with Gail.
ROCKSTAR SPUD PROMO- very good
TNA X-DIVISION TITLE MATCH: Tigre Uno(c) vs. Kenny King- 4/10
I could have sworn that the last time we saw Kenny King, he was used as a complete and total jobber. The match was short and pointless.
TNA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH: Ethan Carter III(c) (w/Jeff Hardy & Tyrus) vs. Rockstar Spud- 5.75/10
Great for a five minute match.
POST-MATCH SEGMENT- Ethan has Tyrus beat Spud up, then orders Jeff to end Spud’s career. How did Ethan want Jeff to end Spud’s career? With a Twist of Fate. Yes, really. Not jab this big wooden EC III head stick into his eye or beat him in the head with a steal chair. Give him a Twist of Fate.
Jeff doesn’t want to do it. Matt comes out to make the save for Spud but Tyrus retrains him and Ethan orders Jeff to end Matt’s career instead. Matt gives Tyrus a low blow and Jeff hits Ethan instead of Matt. One would assume that this means that Jeff will be fired from TNA forever and unable to feed his family, but this is TNA so I’m certain that won’t happen.
ETHAN CARTER III PROMO- he says he will call Jeff out later so that he can fire him. Why not just save everyone the time and FIRE HIM RIGHT NOW?!
JAMES STORM PROMO- Abyss randomly turns babyface. That was out of nowhere. He cuts a promo and just walks off. Then Manik turns babyface in a way that actually makes sense with this angle. Of course, now that Abyss has left the Revolution, you can’t build to the obvious tag match that would have been Manik & Shera vs. Abyss & Storm.
Mahabali Shera and declared the Revolution to be over. Shera says they can fight now if Storm wants to. Storm instead slinks off like coward. A very good segment aside from the Abyss turn.
DREW & THE WOLVES BACKSTAGE- decent
MATT & JEFF BACKSTAGE- Matt is worried that Jeff will be fired and become poor and not be able to feed his family.
ELIMINATION MATCH FOR A TNA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE SHOT AT BOUND FOR GLORY: Eddie Edwards vs. Davey Richards vs. Drew Galloway vs. Bobby Lashley vs. Bram- 6.75/10
Apparently this is now an elimination match. I guess the referee couldn’t count Lashley’s clear and obvious pin on Davey because apparently it was super-important to the match that Davey and Eddie be eliminated completely simultaneously. That looked so dumb
Drew wins, pinning Lashley after… a standing dropkick. Yes, really.
DREW GALLOWAY PROMO- good
CLOSING SEGMENT- Ethan calls out Jeff to make him beg for his job. Jeff says he doesn’t care if Ethan fires him. Ethan orders Jeff to get on knees and recite a complicated begging/apologizing formula. Instead of doing so, Jeff decides to quit. He declares to the crowd that he will no longer be working for TNA… and the people cheered.
This was all completely stupid. This whole angle has been stupid and pointless. They are hyping up that Dixie will announce a special guest referee for the BFG main event next week, which I assume will be Jeff, which is idiotic on a number of fronts.
An extremely boring show from TNA with a bunch of random crap in the middle of it which was time that easily could have been used to try to actually build up a match for the PPV.

it was more like a sick kick, and Roddy has been winning matches with that since foreverBig Red Machine wrote:

Well it didn't look like one and wasn't called as anything special.cero2k wrote:it was more like a sick kick, and Roddy has been winning matches with that since foreverBig Red Machine wrote:

Also, when Roddy does the sick kick he usually has a HUGE head of steam and usually has hit at least one or two other big signature moves immediately beforehand.
