Seth Rollins was very close to walking out of last Monday’s Raw with three belts: the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, the United States Championship and the Intercontinental Championship. The WWE creative team had at one point planned for Rollins to capture the Intercontinental Championship from Ryback on Raw and go on to wrestle three times at Night of Champions.
Triple H made the call to cancel plans for the Intercontinental Championship changing hands on Monday, but the angle is still being considered. From the perspective of WWE’s Executive Vice President, Talent, Live Events and Creative, he isn’t completely sold on the angle and feels Rollins defending three times at Night of Champions would be overkill.
Ryback scored a pinfall victory over Rollins on Raw to set up a potential Title vs. Title Match (Rollins’ Intercontinental Championship would be on the line against Ryback’s Intercontinental Championship), which is being considered for a future pay-per-view or WWE Network special event.

it's the only thing they can do to not look like a carbon copy of ROH booking, but if Rollins were to defend 3 times in one night, it would end up making the last two look weak if they can't defeat Rollins

I think TNA did it well with Angle but one of those three matches was a tag match, and they were smart to have him lose the first two and win the last one. For WWE, if they did this, I'd say have him lose to Cena by DQ first, quickly and deliberately lose the IC title back to Ryback second, then defeat Sting last for the World title. Then maybe hand the US title over to someone who might have helped him at NOC on Raw (Owens, maybe Stardust or Cesaro turns heel again).cero2k wrote:it's the only thing they can do to not look like a carbon copy of ROH booking, but if Rollins were to defend 3 times in one night, it would end up making the last two look weak if they can't defeat Rollins

Handing a title over is never a good idea.badnewzxl wrote:I think TNA did it well with Angle but one of those three matches was a tag match, and they were smart to have him lose the first two and win the last one. I do like the idea of him getting purposely DQed against Cena very early on.
