Ring of Honor drew in the 2,200 range for last night's Field of Honor event at MCU Field in Brooklyn, NY.
Alex Shelley of The Time-Splitters was injured last night, shattering his front teeth (even though he was wearing a mouthpiece) after a stiff Mark Briscoe knee to the face. Shelley noted on Twitter he saw spots when he was hit and that the force of the blow also broke his mouthpiece. He noted that ROH was an "honorable" company and that he was told several times afterward they would cover the cost of his medical bills. Sadly, he also noted that last night was the first time his sister had seen him wrestle and that his family wants him to stop wrestling. It appears Mark's kneebrace caught Shelley, causing the injury. We wish him a quick recovery.
Shinsuke Nakamura and KUSHIDA both brought their families from Japan for the ROH shows this weekend.
There was a funny bit last night. There was an "Honor Cow" walking around and talking pictures as a takeoff of team mascots. You can't make this up. He eventually had a race with Cheeseburger and tripped him in order to win. This led to Cheeseburger tacking the Honor Cow and ripping off his mask (I guess this would have been a DQ in Mexico) revealing Steve Corino. Corino then wore the costume all night while doing commentary for the DVD release.
The autograph lines for New Japan talents were huge both nights but it was obvious the real top star here was Shinsuke Nakamura.
It appears that based on his excellent work in the G1 Climax, Michael Elgin will be going back over to New Japan.
The Matt Sydal-KUSHIDA angle in Philadelphia appears to be something that will be followed up in New Japan before ROH.
Based on the size of the lines each night, it would appear ROH did quite well on both merchandise and autograph sales.
BJ Whitmer is hoping to be back in the ring by the end of the year following his ACL surgery.
Taeler Hendrix was in Brooklyn last night as well.
ROH returns next weekend to Atlanta, Georgia featuring:
*Adam Cole & reDRagon vs. ROH & TV Champion Jay Lethal & ROH Tag Team Champions The Addiction with Truth Martini
*Mark Briscoe vs. Cliff Compton
*Moose with Stokely Hathaway vs. Jay Briscoe for the first time ever.
Matt Sydal & ACH vs. War Machine
*Roderick Strong vs. Caprice Coleman
*The Kingdom with Maria Kanellis vs. Will Ferrara & Watanabe
*Michael Elgin vs. Adam Page with BJ Whitmer
*Corey Hollis vs. Cedric Alexander

i was checking out pics from last night, it sucks that even when you draw a lot of people and the stands look full, the overall show looks empty because of the setup. I would hope that promotions stopped doing shows at baseball parks, or at least doing them with the other side empty

From what I understand, stadium shows tend to be "sold" shows so there really isn't much risk to the promotion. I'm pretty sure that these were because I heard reports that they were giving away free Cyclones tickets for each ticket you bought to the ROH show.cero2k wrote:i was checking out pics from last night, it sucks that even when you draw a lot of people and the stands look full, the overall show looks empty because of the setup.
