Dixie Carter has been making a point of the fact that Impact will be changing and we will be seeing some new things in terms of how their TV product is presented. She also made it clear that we wouldn’t be seeing those things on any live shows because they will mainly be things created in pre or post production.
I know that TNA have been experimenting with certain things, including the use of green screens for various video packages and adverts. They have also employed the use of some kind of body camera so we can see the action from the wrestler’s point of view.
Apparently, TNA have been changing the way they light certain aspects of their show, based on certain sports events. TNA have taken some inspiration from the way an LA Lakers game was lit. I am sure this aspect of the show will be a work in progress.
I am also hearing a lot of positivity about head of creative, John Gaburick. I was told that he is creating an atmosphere where wrestlers are genuinely listened to and that their views are taken into account. Gaburick is frustrated that wrestlers feel that the ‘brass ring’ sentiment is a fantasy, and wants talent to feel that they can speak up and push their careers forward.
TNA are also eager to stress that any changes that are going to happen will be gradual and we might not see everything change overnight. They are committed to presenting a wrestling show, but we should see some aesthetic changes over the coming weeks.
Everyone in the office is feeling very positive about the direction the company is heading, and the locker room looks to be in the best shape that it’s been in for some time in terms of morale.

Yeah. Because the aesthetics of the show where what was holding TNA back. A fantastic example of not being able to identify the real problem... yet again. For years and years the people in charge of TNA (be it Dixie, Hogan, Bischoff, Russo, and now Gaburick) have been in complete and total denial about the fact that THEIR IDEAS are the problem, and now they are grasping at straws that are even farther way from the obvious problem that they have just gone so far off course that they will never ever figure it out, and the company will die because of it.
I mean COME ON!
Do they really think New Japan got so big over the past few years because of they have a big special effects budget?
TNA should be looking at Ring of Honor and asking themselves "why are they doing that they are outdrawing us even though we have more exposure, stars with bigger name value, (had) much better production values, and were in a better channel at a better time?"
