BRM Reviews the 1/13/2015 Main Event

GOLDUST & STARDUST vs. LOS MATADORES (w/El Torito)- 3.75/10
Goldst & Stardust will both be in the Royal Rumble. They appear to be under the impression that two people can win. I'm not sure what else it could mean that "the stars will align for Goldust and Stardust."
At this point, all finishes involving the heels going after El Torito and thus getting distracted bore the hell out of me.

ASCENSION SQUASH- snore. Also a DUD on principle.

TOTAL DIVAS COMMERCIAL- our storylines are Paige sexually harassing Nattie in the ring, and Eva Marie wrestling while she has some sort of medical condition, thus putting her career on the line. Yeah... Eva's had one televised match in the past year, so I'm calling bullsh*t. Also, I don't ever remember seeing Paige lick Nattie in the ring on Raw.

JUSTIN GABRIEL vs. RUSEV (w/Lana)- 5.75/10
The fans chanted "USA!" This couldn't possibly have been to support Justin Gabriel, who is South African, so I'll assume they have turned heel and are supporting US Champion Rusev.
Justin Gabriel's skeleton tights need to go. They look like the bottom half of a lame Halloween costume.
These two had a solid match. Justin once again proves how criminally underutilized he has been in the WWE.


THE NEW DAY vs. ADAM ROSE, TYSON KIDD, & CESARO (w/Natalya & the Rosebuds)- 6.75/10
A fun match. They really should have The New Day wrestle as a six man unit more often on Raw. An undercard six man tag would be a nice change of pace from the usually monotonous singles match on the undercard.

A fun match. They really should have The New Day wrestle as a six man unit more often on Raw. An undercard six man tag would be a nice change of pace from the usually monotonous singles match on the undercard.

since they wasted the shield and the wyatt family, it be cool if they gave them the titles on a freebird rule later in the year

That would actually work really well, as there is no clear leader like with the Wyatts and all three guys have a different in-ring style (well... you could paint Woods' as being something a bit different than just mediocre), which would be a good way to get over the "you can't prepare for them because you don't know which two you will be facing" aspect of the Freebird Rule.
