[Big Red Machine]

BAILEY vs. BECKY LYNCH (w/Sasha Banks)- 0.75/10
The match was short. Becky won with a roll-up while pulling the tights. Sasha made fun of Bailey after the match. Charlotte came out to make the save. Didn’t we see this already?

Alex Riley claimed that Sasha Banks was the leader of the BFFs. I never once got that impression. If anyone was in charge, it was first Summer, then Charlotte.

CHARLOTTE & BAILEY BACKSTAGE- Bailey’s use of the phrase “earlier tonight” made it seem like this was supposed to air later in the show. She thanked Charlotte for helping her. Charlotte told Bailey that she wouldn’t be here next week to help her, so she advised Bailey to just avoid Sasha at all costs. Obviously this is setting up Sasha doing something mean to Bailey which Charlotte will have to get revenge for, which really pisses me off because THIS FEUD IS SUPPOSED TO BE ABOUT THE WOMEN’S TITLE, not f*cking Bailey!

VAUDEVILLANS SEGMENT- they have midget Lucha Dragons to make fun of. Renee Young, a babyface, thought that this was funny, and was very excited because she thought the midgets were “adorable.” Aiden English called for a referee, who then ordered for the bell to be rung despite the fact that:
1. These guys don’t work for WWE
2. We have had no authorization from General Manager William Regal
3. The midget ARE NOT WILLING PARTICIPANTS IN THE MATCH!
Renee Young, a non-wrestler who often does in-ring interview, said that they shouldn’t have come out to the ring if they weren’t willing to have a match. I hope Paige just beats the crap out of her during her next in-ring interview.

THE VAUDEVILLANS vs. THE LUCHA LITTLE PEOPLE- DUD!
Boring. Also, where were the Lucha Dragons? We know they are in the building because they were advertised as wrestling tonight… so why didn’t they help the minis?

BARON CORBIN vs. ELIAS SAMPSON- dud.

BULL DEMPSEY vs. STEVE CUTLER-
Dempsey and Corbin walked past each other on the ramp. I guess they’re building that match up. Snore. Despite the fact that this took place immediately after the Corbin match, when Bull got to the ring, there was magically a different jobber waiting for him. How the hell did that happen? And why didn’t this guy get even a cursory introduction?
The fans counted for Bull as well, and when Bull didn’t win in the same twenty-two seconds, they booed him and chanted “BARON’S BETTER!”
Alex Riley has only now realized that there are two big dudes running around doing squash matches. It’s been two and a half months since Baron debuted.

TYSON KIDD vs. CJ PARKER- 1/10
Short.

TYSON KIDD PROMO- he claims to be a third generation Hart, and talked about something at his “uncle Bret” taught him. He challenged Finn Balor to a match next week and said that Balor would be “excellently executed.” This got tremendous heat.

COLIN, ENZO, & CARMELLA BACKSTAGE- they interact with each other. They make it entertaining.

SCOTT DAWSON & DASH WILDER vs. COLIN CASSADY & ENZO AMORE (w/Carmella)-
A squash, but their opening promo made it totally worth it. After the match, the attention attack all four guys. Then they cut a promo on Finn Balor and Hideo Itami.

SAMI ZAYN VISITS WILLIAM REGAL IN HIS OFFICE- not much of a segment, as it just build up the Sami Zayn promo we already knew was coming. Still, we got to see Regal and Zayn on screen together, which in and of itself was awesome.

SAMI ZAYN ADDRESSES THE WWE UNIVERSE- great.
Sami sells his emotion by not dancing on the way down to the ring. He calls out Neville, who is still limping to sell the injury from last week. The end result of this was Zayn wanting one more rematch, and he says that if he loses, he’ll quit. Regal comes out and makes the match for the next Takeover special, which will be called NXT Takeover R Evolution, which is a stupid name


A bad episode of NXT, but the main event segment was important.

STUPID ANNOUNCER QUOTES:
1. Rich Brennan- “Have you ever seen somebody tornado their way through NXT the way Baron Corbin has since his debut?”
First of all, his debut was actually a #1 contendership battle royale last February (which he lost), and he was used as a jobber for a good fifteen months after that, but even if we play their game and pretend that he debuted at Takeover: Fatal 4-Way, then yes we have seen people have similarly impressive winning streaks upon their debuts. Big E. Langston. Alexander Rusev. Mojo Rawley. And probably a bunch of others, too.

2. Alex Riley called CJ Parker “the last great humanist.”
Yes. He actually said this.

3. Alex Riley claimed that a Dragon Screw into the ropes is something that “you can only learn at the Hart Dungeon.”
False.

Obviously this is setting up Sasha doing something mean to Bailey which Charlotte will have to get revenge for, which really pisses me off because THIS FEUD IS SUPPOSED TO BE ABOUT THE WOMEN’S TITLE, not f*cking Bailey!

I get that they're telling a story here, but I really don't like it either. Bailey has turned into one of my favorite characters on the show, and they are absolutely ruining her. First, she's A WRESTLER, why should she be afraid of anyone? Especially somebody she's beaten at least twice before? Again, A WRESTLER, and they're treating her like a valet... a fragile/Miss Elizabeth-type one at that. She took you to your limit a few weeks ago, Charlotte, give the girl some credit. And another thing, how in the hell is Bailey's finish NOT a Bear Hug?

Anyway, so I figure, of course to start the show Bailey's gonna be center ring on mic sayin' something like "Sasha, I'm supposed to stay away from you tonight, so just stay away from me because I'm all by my helpless little self... Sasha and Becky come out, unmic'd, talking however they talk, "Bitch! We gon' rip yo' tits off n throw 'em ina crowd, bitch!" or whatever girls say, and then it's gonna happen... Bailey gets them in the ring and says "...just because Charlotte's not here, doesn't mean I don't have other friends watching my back tonight..."

Kong proceeds to Ryback squash both girls while Bailey looks on innocently. It's gonna be awesome.

I have actually hated Bailey from the beginning because she has always come off to me as way too fragile. She seems like she has the emotional development level of an eight year old, and as a result, watching her compete in a combat sport seems horribly exploitive- like putting someone with Down Syndrome in an MMA fight just because they really want to fight. Even if you train them as best you can, and they catch on really well, there is still something that feels wrong about it.
As for her finisher, a bear hug wouldn't be believable. Have you seen her skinny little arms? The hugplex works just fine.

After watching this week's episode, I'm seriously wondering if they're protecting Kalisto. He can't possibly be much bigger than the minis they used.
