Sting has trended on Twitter throughout Saturday following a report by the PWInsider.com website that he will appear at Sunday’s Survivor Series pay-per-view in St. Louis, Missouri. The report offers no other details, just that Sting is slated to appear but won’t follow up with an appearance at next week’s WWE television tapings. You can read their piece at this link.
The report has resulted in a tremendous amount of speculation on social media, with our accounts being flooded with questions. I wanted to mention the original piece so people would know 1) where it came from and 2) what the original report said. I am unable to confirm the report and have not been notified of a Sting appearance at Survivor Series.
As to whether or not the report is true, I don’t know. I can’t imagine a story of that magnitude would be posted if it weren’t 100% but since I cannot confirm the report, I am unable to add to it.
Sting has been involved in multiple WWE projects this year, including a DVD (The Best of Sting) and is the headliner of the WWE 2K15 video game. In fact, Sting Tweeted from his verified Twitter account that “Finally, I have arrived” last Tuesday. This was done to coincide with the game being released on Next-Gen consoles in North America and followed a series of cryptic Tweets about his inclusion.
You can read that Tweet below:
If Sting does turn up on Sunday, it will only increase rumors and speculation about him working at Wrestlemania 31 next year. He has not been shy that he wants a match against The Undertaker and has also gone on record as to stating he wishes the streak wouldn’t have ended.
