KONNAN & CUETO IN CUETO’S OFFICE- Konnan’s got three new guys he wants to bring in from Mexico. Cueto books them against each other. Konnan thinks this would be cool.

CUETO IN THE RING- he introduces “El Mariachi Loco.” He says that “there is no challenge too big for El Mariachi Loco.” Then we got the following match…

EL MARIACHI LOCO vs. MASCARITA SAGRADA- 4/10
Get it? “No challenge too large?”
Anyway, this was a good first match for Sagrada. In fact, THIS is exactly what they should have done with Sexy Star.

POST-MATCH SEGMENT- Chavo attacked Sagrada. On commentary, Vamprio, who is a babyface, laughed at this.

VAMPIRO’S SIT-DOWN INTERVIEW WITH CHAVO GUERRERO JR.- Chavo explained his motivations for turning heel. He was awesome.

CHAVO & KONNAN MEET IN A HALLWAY- they are friendly with each other. Konnan warns Chavo that someone in Mexico has found out about all of the heelish things he has done at these tapings, so it would be best for Chavo to leave before they catch up with him. This was great.
Then Konnan left and Chavo went to continue walking on his way, but all of a sudden Mil Muertes was there. They had a short staredown, then Muertes walked on past Chavo. Chavo followed with his eyes to make sure that Muertes wouldn’t jump him, so when he turned around, he was suddenly face-to-face with Catrina (I’m really not capturing how well this was done, and the music really helped to up the creepiness factor, too).
Catrina warned Chavo that he had taken something that belongs to Mil Muertes, and that Mil Muertes never forgets. One day, he will come after Chavo. Then she licked his face, which I guess is her thing. Did I miss Chavo taking Muertes’ sacred stone or something? Also, if that happened, wouldn’t Muertes be pissed at Catrina. If he is, I like that we don’t know about it, as keeping all of his feelings totally in the dark from us really helps make him seem like an outsider. Like something strange; almost supernatural, in a way.

MIL MUERTES BACKSTORY VIDEO PACKAGE- cool. He’s like the Geoff John’s-created version of DC’s Black Hand, except instead of being creepy, his story is tragic.

RICKY MANDEL vs. MIL MUERTES (w/Catrina)- good squash.
Vampiro agrees with me that face-licking is weird. Striker said it turned him on, so anyone out there reading this with fantasies of getting with Matt Striker, there’s an important tip for you.

JOHNNY MUNDO WANTS TO SEE DARIO CUETO- Cueto’s thug won’t let him in. Then they decide to be jerks and ask if Johnny knows “the password.” Apparently the password is a superkick. They had a nice, shot brawl in the hallway which Mundo obviously won. I was disappointed that they didn’t come up with any cool parkour stuff for him to do, they totally made up for it by having his final blow that took down the second henchman send the henchman backwards into the door, softly opening it. Mundo told Cueto that he wanted a match with Big Ryck next week. Cueto said okay. Mundo then told Cueto that after he is done with Big Ryck, Cueto is next. This was straight out of a stereotypical action movie, that didn’t make it any less awesome.

DARIO CUETO & BIG RYCK BACKSTAGE- Cueto gives Ryck a sh*t-ton of money and promises him even more if he wants it, so long as he puts Johnny Mundo in the hospital.

PRINCE PUMA VIDEO PACKAGE- short, and no new info.

TRIPLE THREAT MATCH: Dragon vs. Fenix vs. Pentagon Jr.- 7.75/10
According to Vamprio, Pentagon Jr. is basically Octagon’s Jr.’s Black Tiger. Speaking of Octagon Jr., Vampiro said that Lucha Underground is the only place in the world where the fans chant “Lucha.” I guess he hasn’t been watching NXT.
Drago’s gear is perhaps the coolest I have ever seen.
At one point Pentagon Jr. hit the Sling Blade, which Striker referred to as “a nice little Tanahashi.”
This match was great. There were a lot of good three-way spots and cool Lucha stuff, to the point where I can see someone who isn’t very familiar with Lucha Libre and indy wrestling getting completely awed by this match the same way that people were just completely awed by the main event at The Era of Honor Begins (obviously this wasn’t anywhere near as amazing as that match, but what I’m saying is that if you haven’t seen too much of this stuff before, this match would really carry a sense of wonder like that match does).

DARIO CUETO PROMO DURING THE CREDITS- good. He’s desperate but prideful, which makes him a very dangerous man.

I think she simply refers to Chavon taking away the beating Mil Muertes was handing Blue Demon.
