OPENING VIDEO PACKAGE- great. If only it had fit the storyline they actually did. Like Roode’s whiny crap, or the bullsh*t ref bumps in the match.

OPENING SEGMENT-
Kurt Angle introduces Roode, and Mike Tenay is already talking up the possibility of Roode breaking his own record for longest title reign. Don’t you think you’re jumping the gun a bit on that, Mike?
Roode cut a good babyface victory promo and put Kurt Angle as the best of all time. The MVP & Pals showed up. MVP cut a promo pointing out everything I has been saying over the past few weeks about this Bobby Roode title shot. MVP then immediately transitioned into claiming that the only reason Lashley got a title shot was because he was standing in MVP, so MVP himself deserved a title shot. Kurt saw that Lashley was unhappy about this, so he booked the match. Yeah. Not because MVP actually DESERVED the title shot or anything. He just wants to break up a friendship. What a douchebag!

TAG TEAM TOURNAMENT FINALS: Samoa Joe & Low Ki vs. The Hardys- 6.75/10
They couldn’t even give this the top of the hour spot where the second-biggest match on the card normally goes?

JAMES STORM & DAVEY RICHARDS BACKSTAGE- Storm is giving Davey one week to deicde if he will join his group or not.

BOBBY ROODE PROMO- okay

TNA ran a commercial where they touted their “Black November” sale as “famous.” An outright lie.

SHAW-GUNNER RECAP- yeah… I had totally forgotten than this happened. Maybe they should have actually mentioned it on last week’s show?

SAMUEL SHAW PROMO- He refers to Brittany as a” vivacious vixen,” so we know that he appropriately celebrated Guy Fawkes Day by watching V for Vendetta. They make out. At least the crazy, obsessive dangers to society are happy together. Someone just make sure to have DYFS immediately take away any children they may have.
Then Gunner came out. “Mr. Intensity” Gunner, who is now seeing his former friend for the first time since he was stabbed in the back and assaulted... stands there in the ring and calmly cuts a promo. In fat, the first punch was thrown by Shaw… because number called him a bad name.
Gunner got his hands on Shaw for a bit but Brittany made the heel save by jumping on Gunner’s back, then Shaw gave him a low blow and choked him out. That part was good (although I think just beating him bloody instead of choking him out would have been a lot better).


VIDEO PACKAGE FOR MAHABALI SHERA- PERFECT!

MVP & KURT ANGLE BACKSTAGE- dull.

HARDCORE MATCH: Magnus & Bram vs. Tommy Dreamer & Devon- 4.5/10
Dreamer and Devon, the babyfaces, jumped the heels from behind, like gutless cowards.

GAIL KIM PROMO- great! THIS is what a pissed-off babyface promo should be!

SPUD/JB/EC III/TYRUS SEGMENT- F*CKING AMAZING! EVERYONE GO WATCH THIS RIGHT NOW!

TNA WOMEN’S TITLE MATCH: Havok(c) vs. Gail Kim-
They brawl on the outside, but they never get to the ring because Havok tosses Gail of the stage. She landed on her feet, but somehow this hurt her arm. We went to commercial and doctor’s told her she couldn’t wrestle, but she did anyway because apparently she’s allowed to do that because I guess Kurt Angle doesn’t care about her health. They should have had Kurt come out here to talk to Gail so Gail could tell him “no” and Kurt could say “I know how you feel and I know that you understand the risks, so I will let you wrestle.”
Actually, I would have preferred that they not do any of this and just gave us more of a match. Gail, of course, didn’t sell the injured arm at all, which killed everything.


MANIK TALKS TO MAHABALI SHERA BACKSTAGE- great! This guy joining Storm then eventually turning on him will be great.

LASHLEY WALKS OUT ON MVP- okay

TNA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH: Bobby Roode(c) vs. MVP- 6.25/10

Roode wins clean. After that Lashley shows up and spears Roode. MVP wants a hand getting up, but Lashley blows him off.

A decent episode of Impact, but with some great stuff on it. My biggest criticism is that I just couldn’t bring myself to care about the angles involved in the title matches, which I should be doing, taped months in advance or not.
