what if...Seth Rollins and the Shield

Post by badnewzxl » Jun 9th, '14, 14:07

Are just working HHH and Orton?!

While watching Smackdown I noticed how many times JBL pointed out that Rollins was the "architect" (brains) of the Shield and it made me think that this random nonsensical turn could actually have a logical reasoning behind it. Rollins fakes a turn to set up Rollins & Orton v. Reigns & Ambrose at MITB, where Rollins then turns again and the Shield demolish Orton leaving HHH on his own. Then we get HHH v. Reigns at Summerslam.

What do you guys think? Plausible? Possible? Probable? Good? Bad? Ugly?

Lol. Does this not make more sense than what's currently been given? I feel like the sudden random turn is more Russo esque than an actual coup where someone destroys a group from the inside.

No reason has so far been given. Seth has his reasons, but won't tell us what they are.
With the way you have it, why even have Rollins turn? You still get a 3-on-2 situation for the Shield, which is what you had before the turn. If they wanted to do a Shield-style gang beating of Evolution, one at a time, they could do that anyway.

i had thought about this, but i kept telling myself, why go through this if they just defeated Evolution in a perfect 3-0 battle? if they now outnumber Evolution, why not just beat them up?

Maybe he won't tell us why BECAUSE this is why :-?
He doesn't want to lie, because he's still secretly a babyface! I'm sold.

I don't think its Russo-esque at all, didn't Daniel Bryan just pull one of these with The Wyatt family? Seems lazy to do another one this soon... but its not out of the question.

I love the sentiment, but it still doesn't justify violently beating down his pals and then turning on Evolution to set up a very un-babyface numbers advantage (which they would already have anyway). The babyface thing to do would be to support your pals at ringside but not interfere in the match.

Except that Bryan did not hurt anyone except himself, and after the turn, Bryan was still fighting against 3-on-1 odds. For Rollins to suddenly turn back after this as if this was the plan all along is Russo-esque because it s a swerve fr the sake of a swerve. The babyfaces gain nothing by doing it (other than a lot of pain for Ambrose and Reigns). It's like Joe turning heel and letting Angle win at Slammiversary 2009, then saying that it was the plan all along. If it was the plan all along, why have Joe vicious beat up the whole MEM for months and why have him and Kurt fight each other all through the match before revealing their evil plan at the very end?

I ask myself that question now; why the hell would Rollins turn on his team and join the guys they just beat 3-0 like you said?! If they outnumber Evolution, why join them? What incentive do you have when you've consistently overcome the authority?

Can anyone actually come up with a good reason? Cuz I can't really think of one. I think this whole thing is gonna hurt Rollins in the long run

Money. Blackmail. The promise of a push. There's tons of "good" reasons.

I guess those are all just too lame for me. If it's something like that, I feel like it makes Rollins look weak bc according to what we have seen the Shield has managed to do everything they want with pretty much the same amount of resistance they usually get. That's the hardest thing for me to get over with this angle.

Honestly, I may just be being a Shield Mark here, lol.

Don't get me wrong. I get where you're coming from. The idea that one member of the Shield turned on the other two still just seems surreal to me. I can't wrap my head around it.

I was hoping to see a build to the break up so this sudden turn makes me feel a bit shafted. But again, I'm probably just being a mark right now
