BRM Reviews the 5/3/2014 ROH

TOMMASO CIAMPA vs. RODERICK STRONG (w/Adam Page)- 6.5/10
Roddy takes advantage of a distraction by Page, but Cedric runs in and helps Ciampa win.

POST-MATCH SEGMENT- good
Roddy cut a promo demanding that Cedric come out and fight him. Cedric did, and Cedric got the better of him. Cedric then challenged Roddy to a match at Global Wars. A decent promo, but it would have been better if the announcers hadn't already told us about this match.

MICHAEL ELGIN PROMO- very scatter-brained. First he says that all he has thought about for two years is winning the ROH World Title (so I guess making an entire Olympic team's worth of super-babies with MsChif will have to wait). Then he says that he is now obsessed with winning the IWGP Heavyweight Title. Then he says that he is completely focused on his match with Rocky Romero tonight. Maybe he's got ADD.

THE ROMANTIC TOUCH vs. SILAS YOUNG- 4.25/10
Miserable Silas Young is a good enough character on his own. Making him a sexist and a homophobe doesn't add anything to the character. His finish looked bad. Like he barely even touched Rhett The Romantic Touch.

THE FISH TANK- good hype for the ROH World Tag Team Title match at War of the Worlds.

COREY HOLLIS vs. JIMMY JACOBS (w/Adam Page & Tadarius Thomas)- 4.75/10
Apparently Thomas has joined the Decade. Off-screen. Kelly and Corino get him to do commentary, but before he can answer any questions, Jimmy Jacobs comes over and yells at him not to do commentary, so he stops. Now we have a mystery on our hands. Could be interesting.
The match went just long enough to do everything it needed to do: establish the mystery of why TD join the Decade, and give Jacobs a dominant win while letting Hollis still get some stuff in and not look like a total chump.

MICHAEL ELGIN vs. ROCKY ROMERO- 6.75/10

A good episode of ROH, but a very forgettable one, with the only angle advanced in any way at all being the Decade stuff.
