The Pro-Wrestling:EVE Championship is recognised by many as THE definitive women's championship with numerous promotions around Europe recognising the title and housing Pro-Wrestling:EVE Championship matches.
On Saturday June 4 2011 the XWA, one of the UK's leading wrestling promotions, housed a Pro-Wrestling:EVE Guest Match between the Pro-Wrestling:EVE Champion Britani Knight and 'The Female Fight Machine' Jenny Sjodin. The two had fought twice prior to this each notching up one win a piece and this was the third and deciding rubber match between the pair.
During this time Jenny Sjodin was a member of a faction called "The European Empire" lead by "Coventry's Loudest" Jetta. The now retired Jetta was determined that she would get to hold the Pro-Wrestling:EVE Championship through one of the Empire members but was showing such preference to fellow Empire member 'The Dynamite Princess' Nikki Storm that she didn't even bother attending the event to accompany "The Female Fight Machine" to the ring. Never one to complain, Sjodin who herself is a grappling gold medallist having competed around the world in the top ground grappling and Brazilian jiu jitsu tournaments simply took the match in her stride and focussed on the job at hand. The result was one that would change the life of Sweden's "Female Fight Machine" and the future of European all female professional wrestling.
Despite this match taking place just 8 months ago the difference in Sjodin is astounding. Having gone from someone classed as a mixed martial artist involved in professional wrestling to becoming someone many in the wrestling industry class as arguably one of the best female professional wrestlers in the world such is her versatility one can only wonder how good she'll be come the next Pro-Wrestling:EVE event on Saturday July 14 2012 at The Delphi Centre in Sudbury, Suffolk.
