BRM Reviews the 11/8/2013 Smackdown

Post by Big Red Machine » Nov 11th, '13, 13:22

CM PUNK PROMO- Punk calls out the Wyatts but gets interrupted by Michael McGillicutty instead, who says that they have a match right now because he wants revenge for Punk injuring Paul Heyman. So here we go...

MICHAEL MCGILLICUTTY vs CM PUNK- 6.5/10

3MB vs. THE USOS & R-TRUTH- 3/10
A random win for Truth in his home town.

AJ LEE & TAMINA SNUKA vs. THE FUNKADACTYLS- 4/10
Cameron looked a lot better in the ring than she usually does. I am really enjoying seeing Tamina just throw the over divas around.

ALBERTO DEL RIO PROMO- he says that Cena stole the World Heavyweight Title from him, and he would take it back tonight, but he can't because he is sick. Cena comes out and is juvenile, which Del Rio calls him out on. Cena then challenges a sick man to a fight. Very brave. Del Rio accepts anyway, but Vickie comes out and puts the kibosh on it, rescheduling their World Heavyweight Title match for Survivor Series. They both insult Vickie so she books Cena vs. Ryback for later Del Rio vs. Khali for right now.

ALBERTO DEL RIO vs. THE GREAT KHALI- 4.75/10
So Del Rio has volunteered to wrestle despite being sick, made fun of the heel GM, and is now being booked against a giant as punishment. Why are they booking him like a babyface. Anyway, this wasn't bad at all for a Khali match.

DANIEL BRYAN vs. LUKE HARPER (w/Erick Rowan & Bray Wyatt)- 5.75/10
This really went longer than it should have. This was really more of a segment than a match, as it was all a set-up for Punk to save Dragon, and it did that effectively, but it didn't need all of the time that it got, and that time could have been used better elsewhere.

They then wasted a good twelve minutes showing the entire segment with Big Show from Raw. JUST SHOW HIGHLIGHTS!

COLE INTERVIEWS TRIPLE H- good. Hunter implies that there is some secret reason why he trusts Kane.

JOHN CENA vs. RYBACK- 7.25/10
Great match! Del Rio jumps Cena after the match. That was good. Then Cena winds up winning the fight. That was bad.

Overall, a good episode of Smackdown

i can't get over the fact that Punk skipped Bray in order to get in the ring to help Dragon, it was bad positioning IMO, but it feels weird

Eh. He is a babyface, so helping someone is more important than getting revenge. Punk is also a smart guy. He knows that Dragon is a potential ally, but he is very injury so by saving Dragon he was making sure that he didn't have to face the Wyatt Family alone.

no yeah, i agree. that segment happened like i should. it just seem weird how he skipped Bray, he should have climbed on another side of the ring i don't know.
