BRM Reviews the 7/27/2013 ROH (Steel Cage Warfare!)*spoiler*

THE AMERICAN WOLVES vs. #PARTY BOYS (Mike Sydal & Zizzou Middoux)- 5.25/10
I hope the Wolves destroy these guys for having such a stupid team name.

Well... Sydal and Middoux actually looked pretty good here. I'd definitely be open to seeing more of them... and I guess the fact that they snub the Wolves on the post-match handshake means that we will be seeing more of them.

STEEL CAGE WARFARE MATCH: Team ROH (BJ Whitmer, Michael Elgin, Jay Lethal, & Kevin Steen) vs. SCUM (Rhett Titus, Cliff Compton, Jimmy Jacobs, & Rhino)- 8.75/10
- If SCUM wins, Steve Corino gets Nigel McGuinness' job as ROH Matchmaker
- If ROH wins, SCUM must disband

THIS is how you book a big blow-off to a faction warfare angle! This match was awesome. The storytelling was great, the pacing was perfect, and they did an awesome job of bringing back past elements of the feud. The only thing I disliked here was Rhino's elimination. I don' think he even last thirty seconds! Were they paying him by the minute or something? It would have made a lot more sense for Rhett to have been eliminated in that spot. Other than that, though, this match was awesome, and had some great twists and turns that I don't want to spoil, so I won't say anything else about it other than that it pretty much saved this mediocre feud from being something people look back on negatively.

They have the early bird specials where you can pay to watch it early. I found someone who had uploaded one of those onto daily motion. I think it got taken down now, but it might still be up. I found it by searching "ROH 7 27 13"

just watched; GREAT show! This is the kinda stuff they need on their tv show. They need to stop filming the entire months tv in one or two days; why not just make the show a collage of some of their recent live event matches? The storylines continue, you can easily promote your dvds (a lot of their shows have just been entire ppvs spread out into several episodes anyway; why not give the public one of the decent matches from a live show instead of a 4 or 5 hour tv taping where the fans are exhuasted), AND everyone can be up to speed on what's going on in ROH (I know a few ppl who were interested in following ROH, but were turned off by difference in pace between the tv show and the current state of ROH. The Jay Briscoe World title fiasco was the final straw for one of my buddies).

I personally feel their spread has become big enough where they can comfortably transition all their angles into the TV, and leaver their big payoffs for their major shows, even if they don't do live PPVs anymore. that would make fans really wanna catch their shows (even consider paying the membership to get them earlier) and it could increase the sales of the VOD and DVDs to get the payoffs of the story they've been following on TV

I think that doing the TV tapings for the month all in the one day after the PPV did a lot for them in terms of keeping the TV very current with the live product.

Badnewz, I suspect we're about to get some of exactly what you are asking for, as this was the last show from the June tapings, and they don't tape again until this weekend (the weekend this airs). I don't think they've ever gotten a show ready just six days after it was taped, so I expect we'll see some of the matches from Reclamation weekend on TV. Also, they usually get four episodes out of each day of tapings, and after this one, the next set of tapings are in later September, so I assume we will get to see some matches from All-Star Extravaganza V and Manhattan Mayhem V (probably the title tournament matches) on TV.
