BRM Reviews the 5/25/2013 ROH (*spoilers*)

MARK BRISCOE vs. COLIN DELANEY- 4.75/10
Corino says that Colin was in ROH previously, but I can find no evidence of this at all.
Kevin Kelly says that, in WWE Colin Delaney was "one of the fastest rising stars the industry has seen."
I get that announcers have to exaggerate things from time to time statements like this are the sort of thing that kill all credibility your announcers have. Five minutes after Kevin Kelly gets done saying this, Mark Briscoes defeats Colin Delaney pretty easily.

ADAM COLE PROMO- nice to hype up a house show on TV.

WORLD TITLE CHALLENGER AT BEST IN THE WORLD 2013 ANNOUNCEMENT- Nigel announces that Mark will get the title shot. The Wolves come out and say that by the time it gets to Best in the World 2013, one of them will be the champion. Corino then gets on the mic and says that whoever is the champ after Best in the World 2013 will have to defend against Matt Hardy. Corino then pokes Nigel in the chest while telling him that there is nothing he can do about it. Nigel didn't even react to it (which was good), but that one little poke in Nigel's chest provoked Jay to try to punch Corino. Corino ducked and Jay's punch accidentally hit Davey, so the Wolves brawled with the Briscoes. Jay reacting so strongly to Nigel being poked in the chest was odd, but otherwise this was a good segment.
Props to Corino for pointing out that it is a bit ridiculous for Mark to be getting an ROH World Title shot right now (see my rant in the spoilerbox in my review for last week's show for my thoughts on this).

VEDA SCOTT PROMO- good... although she seems to think that MsChif is a big bully, which seems to have come out of nowhere. Yeah, MsChif was out of line for hitting Veda with the mist, but in her defense, Veda was being REALLY annoying and was bothering Chif right after a loss. There is no real evidence at all that MsChif misted Veda for any other reason than that. This whole bullying thing seems to have come out of nowhere.

CHERRY BOMB vs. MSCHIF- 4.5/10
They were having a good mat wrestling match until Veda came out and interfered, giving Cherry Bomb the win. I really didn't like this. If the angle is supposed to be that MsChif is being a bully, let her win clean (she was definitely wrestling like a heel and being very vicious), then have her go for a post-match beatdown and have Veda thwart it. Doing this makes it look like Veda was sticking her nose where it didn't belong and doing a dishonorable thing by interfering.
Kevin Kelly says this was MsChif's first loss in ROH, which definitely isn't true. She lost the four way match on TV that was taped back on March 3rd. Even if we are very kind to Kevin and say that he meant she hasn't been pinned/submitted, she definitely lost to Sara Del Rey at the 9th Anniversary Show, and I'm sure she has lost other matches.

ACH PROMO- great,

STEEN & NIGEL SEGMENT- Steen wants his return match for the title. Nigel says that it is Steen's fault ROH lost at Border Wars 2013, ensuring that one member of SCUM would get an ROH World Title shot, and Nigel accuses Steen of still secretly being aligned with SCUM. Steen says he will show Nigel that he isn't a member of SCUM anymore by having by wrestling every single member of SCUM in singles matches, and Nigel says he will consider giving Steen his rematch after that.

EDDIE EDWARDS PROMO- more good hype for an upcoming house show.

RODDY PROMO- good

RODERICK STRONG vs. TAIJI ISHIMORI- 8/10

Overall, a great show from ROH. This is the type of main event that ROH needs to be putting on week in and week out. They need to give their main events time, like this one got.
