WWE Night of Champions 2012- 9/16/2012- Boston, MA:

PRE-SHOW BATTLE ROYALE TO DETERMINE THE #1 CONTENDER TO THE WWE INTERCONTINENTAL TITLE: This match uses the Royal Rumble format with only two guys starting and others entering every minute. The first two are Heath Slater and Seth Rollins, then comes Miz, then, Ryder, then Santino, then Sandow then Brodus, then Ohno. Right upon coming into the ring, Rollins sees Santino on the apron and knocks him off with a rolling elbow, eliminating him. Sandow sees Brodus’ back to him, so he takes advantage by hitting him with a low blow, then throws him out of the ring. The next man in is Hunico. By the time Hunico is in the ring, Brodus has recovered. He charges into the ring and clotheslines Sandow over the top rope. The two of them start to brawl on the outside. Then Roillins eliminates Hunico, followed by Ryder eliminating Slater. As Slater makes his way up the ramp, Cody Rhodes makes his entrance. Upon hearing Cody’s music, Slater starts to back off, wanting to avoid the man whose father he assaulted on the 1000th Raw, but Cody doesn’t even look at Slater. He just heads right to the ring. Rollins eliminates Miz, and Ohno eliminates Ryder. Rollins then eliminates Ohno, but is quickly thereafter dispatched by Cody, who wins the match.

Because Booker T is wrestling, it will be Josh Matthews joining Lawler and Cole on commentary tonight.

At the stroke of 8:00 pm, as the fireworks go off, Rey Mysterio charges down to the ring. He grabs Lillian’s mic away from her and says. “No more waiting. Del Rio… NOW!

REY MYSTERIO vs. ALBERTO DEL RIO (w/Ricardo Rodriguez)-
Once again, these two just completely ignore the referee and wind up in a double DQ about six minutes in, but that doesn’t stop them from brawling all over the place until security separates them.

Dolph Ziggler cuts a backstage promo saying that tonight, he will expose Jack Swagger for the worthless loser that he is.

WWE UNITED STATES TITLE MATCH: Antonio Cesaro(c) (w/Aksana) vs. Alex Riley-
Cesaro wins clean with a Gotch-style Neutralizer at around eight minutes

WWE DIVAS TITLE MATCH: Layla El(c) vs. Natalya (w/Tyson Kidd)-
Nattie wins cleans in eight minutes to become the Divas Champion for the second time.

Paul Heyman comes out and asks if everyone is enjoying the show (POP). Heyman then asks if they are looking forward to seeing John Cena vs. CM Punk for the WWE Title in tonight’s main event (even bigger POP). Heyman then tells them that is too bad because Cena vs. Punk won’t be tonight’s main event. Tonight’s main event will be Booker T vs. Brock Lesnar because Brock Lesnar only wrestles in main events.

JACK SWAGGER vs. DOLPH ZIGGLER (w/Vickie Guerrero)-
Swagger dominates a lot of the match, but Ziggler winds up winning when Swagger goes for a vertical suplex, but Vicky trips him up, then holds his legs down while Ziggler makes the cover and blocks the ref’s line of sight to Vickie’s cheating (about fifteen minutes)

We cut backstage to Matt Striker who says “Earlier today, this man asked me for some time during tonight’s broadcast to address the WWE Universe. Ladies and gentlemen… John Cena.
The camera zooms out, and we see Cena standing next to Striker. In a serious voice, Cena says “tonight, there is a good chance that certain circumstances will force me to take actions that I would normally not condone. Tonight, however, I believe that the stakes are too high, and so, in advance, I would like to apologize to the WWE Universe for the actions that I might well take tonight. I hope that these actions will not come to define my career, and if it comes to it, I hope that in time, you all will realize why I took these actions, and will forgive me for them.

After the interview, Cole wonders what Cena means. Lawler says that he isn’t sure, but it sounds like CM Punk is in a whole lot of trouble.

WWE INTERCONTINENTAL TITLE MATCH: Tyson Kidd(c) (w/Natalya) vs. Cody Rhodes-
Tyson wins cleanly in a 25 minute match. Something to basically be a break-out match for both guys. After the match, Cody offers a handshake, Tyson accepts it.

WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH: Sheamus(c) vs. The Big Show-
They have a very back-and-forth match for about thirteen minutes until Big Show gets the advantage with underhanded tactics like going for the eyes. Show capitalizes on this advantage and hits Sheamus with a huge chokeslam. As he goes for the cover, John Cena charges down the ramp:

ONE!

TWO!

THRE-CENA BOWLS OVER BIG SHOW, causing a DQ, (although it looks like Sheamus was getting his shoulder up, too).
Cena’s interference results in Show winning by DQ, but Sheamus retaining the title.
Cena and Show brawl, and the security comes out to try to pull them apart. Security manages to make some progress, but that progress is completely undone when a furious Sheamus joins in the fray. At this point the entire locker room clears out to break up the brawl (well, not the entire locker room. Rey and Del Rio are not there, as both have been sent home after their match, nor is Brock Lesnar out there… and if you look closely, you’ll notice that CM Punk is not out there, either). In total, between the match and the brawl, I’d give this segment a bit under twenty minutes.

WINNER GETS A WWE TITLE MATCH AT HELL IN A CELL: Randy Orton vs. Christian vs. Daniel Bryan (a/AJ Bryan)-
Orton wins after an RKO on Dragon around the eighteen minute mark. After the match, Orton offers both men handshakes, and they both accept.

WWE WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH: The Prime Time Players(c) vs. Kofi Kingston & R-Truth-
Kofi plays the babyface in peril and gets beaten down by PTP. When he finally gets the opportunity to tag, he can’t because R-Truth is on the outside of the ring, doing Little Jimmy-related antics. Kofi is soon pinned and R-Truth is too busy with his Little Jimmy stuff to notice so he doesn’t try to break up the pin, resulting in Kofi getting pinned and PTP retaining. When he hears the bell, R-Truth realizes what has happened and goes into the ring to check on Kofi, but Kofi shoves him away. R-Truth, realizing that Kofi is angry at him, starts to play to the fans with some Little Jimmy-related antics, and Kofi takes this opportunity to hit R-Truth from behind with Trouble in Paradise (total time of about thirteen minutes).

WWE TITLE MATCH: CM Punk vs. John Cena-
We get a good back-and-forth for about twenty minutes. Ideally, the atmosphere here will be, in some ways, the opposite of that at MITB 2011, with Cena now the hometown hero (although I suspect the crowd will be more like 75-25 Cena, rather than the 99-1 for Punk at MITB). Anyhow, Cena starts to get the advantage, but we wind up with a ref-bump. Eventually Cena has Punk beaten, but Big Show comes out and hits Cena with a WMD, then drapes Punk’s arm over Cena. Show wakes the ref up, and Punk gets the victory (about 25 minutes, total)

BROCK LESNAR (w/Paul Heyman) vs. BOOKER T-
Booker gives a strong showing, but with just three days worth of training time, he is lucky to last ten minutes with Brock. Brock wins with an F-5 at around 12 minutes.

I actually didn't remember that they had done that. It just seemed to be a good way to make the feud seem more hate-filled (I worked in the whole "can't touch each other" stip just to have this happen).

Raw (9/17/2012)

BRODUS CLAY & CHRISTIAN (/the Funkadactyls) vs. DAMIEN SANDOW & TYLER REKS-
During the match, Christian injures his arm, but still stays on the apron. When Sandow and Clay both go down, Christian gets the tag from Clay and Reks gets the tag from Sandow. Despite his injured arm, Christian is still able to hit Reks with Spear and get the win.

John Cena cuts a quick promo. He says that he knows that he has some explaining to do, but he needs to gather his thoughts and think of the best way to express what he wants to say. He says that he will address why he interfered in the World Heavyweight Title match at Night of Champions this week on Smackdown.

Dragon cuts a promo about wanting another chance for a WWE Title shot. Being World Champion is his dream. Heyman tells him he’ll have to start from the bottom again and earn it.

NXT SHOWCASE MATCH: Justin Gabriel def. Richie Steamboat clean in ten minutes.
During the match, the announcers talk up how big of deal it is for Steamboat to be facing a member of the main roster, and ahow big a win would be for him.

CODY RHODES def. DANIEL BRYAN (w/AJ Bryan)
After the match an interviewer asks Cody why he ignored Heath Slater during the battle royale on the Night of Champions pre-show. Cody says “no comment”

Kofi Kingston comes out to the ring to explain his actions last night at Night of Champions. He calls out R-Truth and first apologizes for hitting him with Trouble in Paradise, then says “I take pride in what I do. I care about winning. If you want to be my partner, cut the crap and rededicated yourself to winning. Do you get what I’m saying?”
R-Truth replies that he does, indeed, get what Kofi is saying. The two shake hands, then walk to the back together.

HEATH SLATER vs. MICHAEL MCGILLICUTTY vs. DERRICK BATEMAN-
Slater wins clean in about seven minutes (enough time to not completely bury the other two) pinning Bateman.

Backstage, Matt Striker is standing by with Daniel Bryan and AJ, who is in her ring gear.
Stiker: AJ, I know that you don’t have much time before your match, but I’d just like to quickly get your thoughts on facing your mentor, Natalya, for the WWE Divas Title at Hell in a Cell.
AJ starts talking quickly and excitedly, but is interrupted by Beth Phoenix. Beth looks AJ over, snorts derisively and says “congratulations on your big win, pipsqueak,” then walks off. AJ, Dragon, and Striker all exchanged confused looks and Dragon asks “I wonder what her problem is?”

AJ BRYAN (w/Daniel Bryan) vs. ALICIA FOX-
AJ wins clean in five minutes

The Big Show comes out to the ring, mic in hand.
Big Show: So, I guess now we know what it takes to make the white knight willing to get some stains on his shiny white armor, huh? I would be the World Heavyweight Champion right now if it wasn’t for John Cena, and CM Punk pretty much owes me his WWE Title. The way that I see it, CM Punk wouldn’t be the WWE Champion right now if it weren’t for me. Let’s look at the footage here.
The TitanTron shows footage from the WWE Title match last night, but before the clip is even done playing, CM Punk is on his way down the ramp, microphone in hand.

Punk: I didn’t ask for your help last night, Show, and I didn’t need it. All you’ve done is created an excuse that someone will use to justify me having to defend my title against John Cena yet again. I don’t owe you a thing.

Show: You know, Punk, my mother taught me to always appreciate what I am given, because anything that can be given can be taken away. You clearly didn’t appreciate me giving you the win in your WWE Title match… so maybe I should teach you a lesson by taking the WWE Title away from you.

Punk: You want this? (holds up the WWE Title)
Show: Yeah. I want it.
Punk: Then how about we settle this right here, right now? Someone get a referee out here.

Rather than a referee, the person who comes running down the ramp is Paul Heyman. Heyman says that this sounds like a great idea… but, unfortunately, Punk already has a match scheduled for tonight. Instead, Heyman proposes that they have the match next week on Raw, as the main event.

JACK SWAGGER vs. ALBERTO DEL RIO- After a ref bump, Ziggler hits Swagger with the Zig Zag, letting Del Rio get the win. Rey comes out and chases them both off with a chair.

THE MIZ, ANTONIO CESARO, TENSAI & THE PRIME TIME PLAYERS vs. CM PUNK, SIN CARA, SHEAMUS, KANE, & TYSON KIDD (w/Natalya)-
Titus O’Neil pins Sin Cara after PTP hit Cara with their finisher.

WWE.com reports that Christian has injured his arm and will be unable to compete for about two weeks.

Additionally, two matches are announced for Smackdown: Ziggler & Del Rio vs. Swagger & Mysterio, and a big gauntlet match to determine the #1 contender to the World Heavyweight Title.

SD (9/21/2012)
The show starts out with the announcers hyping up both Cena’s address to the WWE Universe and tonight’s gauntlet match to determine who will get the World Heavyweight Title shot at Hell in a Cell. The wrestlers announced for the match, as published earlier today on WWE.com are:
Cody Rhodes, Sin Cara, Tyson Kidd, Tensai, Brdodus Clay, The Miz, Drew McIntyre, Heath Slater, and Kane.

REY MYSTERIO & JACK SWAGGER vs. ALBERTO DEL RIO & DOLPH ZIGGLER (w/Ricardo Rodriguez & Vickie Guerrero)-
The finish comes when Vickie distracts the ref while Rodriguez passes Del Rio a chair, and Del Rio hits Rey in the head with the chair, allowing Ziggler to pin Rey.

We next get a backstage segment in Steph’s office with Dragon asking to be put in the Gauntlet Match to earn a shot at the World Heavyweight Title. Steph tells him that he had an opportunity to earn a major title shot at Night of Champions but he lost, and he hasn’t done anything since then to deserve inclusion in this match. Dragon says he is willing to prove himself by starting from #1 and beating all of the guys that Steph thinks are more deserving than him. Steph says okay.

When we return from commercial, John Cena comes out to address the WWE Universe:
“A few nights ago at Night of Champions, I did something that I am not proud of. When you fans come to the arena, you want to see your favorite wrestlers win. Now, sometimes, that doesn’t always happen, but I think that, as disappointing as seeing one of your favorites lose is, it is made just a little better if the match was fought cleanly… if the other guy actually proved that, on that night, he was the better man. At Night of Champions, I stopped that from happening. I ruined a perfectly good match between Sheamus and the Big Show. A match fans all over the world had been waiting to see. A match that could headline a Wrestlemania. A match that people paid their hard-earned money to see… and for that, I sincerely apologize. I understand if you are angry at me, but hopefully, after you’ve heard me out, you’ll understand why I did what I did.

Back in May, John Laurinaitis was dumb enough to sign the Big Show to an “iron-clad” contract. That means that Show can’t be fired, no matter what. Of course, this meant that right when things got tough for Johnny, Show had no incentive to help him anymore, so Show left him and Johnny got burned… but the contract is still around. All throughout July you heard me say that I couldn’t allow Big Show to win Money In The Bank contract. Now you’re going to find out why.

Ever since Show signed this iron-clad contract, he has gone into business for himself. He has forgotten the people who matter most: You, the fans. Sure, I’m a talented guy, but without you guys cheering me or booing me, I wouldn’t be anyone. Same with Rock, Austin, Flair, Triple H, Bret Hart, Undertaker, and every other legend of this industry. Because of that, all of us WWE superstars care about the fans. I do. CM Punk does. Sheamus does. Zack Ryder does, Daniel Bryan does, Kofi Kingston does… In his own way, a guy like Damien Sandow even cares about the fans. Everyone in that locker room does… or at least that's how it used to be.

You see, backstage, Big Show has been going around bragging about how WWE can’t fire him or let him go. It doesn’t matter what the fans say or do. You could all get up and go take a leak every time the Big Show comes out to the ring, and WWE still couldn’t fire him. He is saying that you don’t need the fans to be successful. Unfortunately, I have recently started hearing a few of the younger guys backstage listening to him. Trying to figure out ways to get themselves these iron-clad contracts so that they don’t have to give a damn about the fans anymore, either. Young, impressionable guys like Heath Slater. Like the various NXT wrestlers who get the opportunity to wrestle on the big stage every once in a while. Guys like Drew McIntyre who feel abandoned and ignored my management, are trying to figure out ways to manipulate management into getting iron-clad contracts instead of using their talent to go out and climb the ranks of the WWE the right way: by earning the respect of the fans.

I like to talk to guys who are injured, just to say hello every once in a while. Just last week I was talking to Wade Barrett. He said he loved Big Show’s idea. He said that he used Nexus to make the WWE meet his demands and tried to use it to force me to help him cheat to win the WWE Title… and that he thinks he could easily do something like that again to get an iron-clad contract. That is not the right way to do things.

I had to stop the Big Show from winning the World Heavyweight Title at all costs because having more success will only convince more and more wrestlers that the Big Show’s way of thinking is right. If that happens… if the wrestlers stat ignoring the fans, than this whole company will go out of business, and I cannot allow that to happen.

Backstage, an interviewer asks R-Truth about Kofi Kingston’s comment to him on Raw. Truth said that he thinks that Kofi is just grumpy and needs to be cheered up a little.

ANTONIO CESARO vs. KOFI KINGSTON
R-Truth comes out in the middle of the match and starts doing Little-Jimmy antics in an attempt to get Kofi to laugh. Kofi ells at him to go away. This momentary distraction allows Ceasro to roll Kofi up for the win. After the match, R-Truth goes to apologize, but Kofi hits him with Trouble in Paradise. Kofi grabs a mic and says that he and Truth are finished as a team.

Wade Barrett return hype video package

THE PRIME TIME PLAYERS def. THE USOS

Backstage, an interviewer talks to Cody Rhodes about tonight’s gauntlet match, and the chances of him facing Heath Slater. Cody says that he has no comment about Heath Slater.

LAYLA EL vs. KAITLYN
Layla wins clean in five minutes. After the match, she announces that she wants her championship rematch soon.

The entire second half of the show is devoted to the GAUNTLET MATCH FOR A WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE SHOT AT HELL IN A CELL:
With a combination of just wearing his opponent down and good, energy conserving submission wrestling, Dragon manages to go all the way and win the match. He has some trouble with the faster-paced guys like Kidd and Cara, but he conserves his energy and waits for them to make a mistake he can capitalize on. All in all, Dragon is in the ring for almost forty-five minutes.

WWE.com announces that Paul Heyman has dubbed this week's edition of Monday Night Raw "Championship Monday," as, in addition to the WWE Title match between CM Punk and The Big Show, he has also signed Layla's return match for the Divas' Title against Natalya Neidhart. Additionally, Antonio Cesaro has made an open challenge to any "non-American" wrestler to face him for the US Title... and that challenge has been accepted by Sin Cara.

Raw (9/24/2012)-"Championship Monday"
The show starts off with Paul E. coming out and hyping up tonight’s main event. He puts over both Punk and Big Show, and puts himself over as a great promoter. He says that he stole tonight’s big Divas Title match right out from under Stephanie’s nose (“and come on… it’s not like her husband’s giant nose, which you could hide a watermelon under. Stephanie’s nose is small. You really should have been able to stop this, Steph”). He then hypes up all three title matches for tonight until he is interrupted by Tyson Kidd. Tyson says that tonight is Championship Monday, and the IC Champion wants in on the action. Paul E. sanctions an open challenge for the IC Title, right here, right now, to the first person to come down the ramp.
The camera cuts to the back, where we see a bunch of wrestlers leave the monitor and scramble to get out to the entrance way, but the first one out is The Miz

WWE INTERCONTINENTAL TITLE MATCH: Tyson Kidd(c) vs. The Miz
Kidd wins clean in about twelve minutes.

Backstage, R-Truth comes up to Kofi and says that he talked to Heyman and tried to get them a tag team title shot tonight, but apparently the Prime Time Players backed out. Kofi tells Truth that that he doesn’t want to team with him anymore. “What part of ‘done’ don’t you understand?”

NXT SHOWCASE MATCH: Ohno def. Dalton

We get a video package about Sheamus in Ireland, promoting WWE’s next tour there.

CODY RHDOES vs. JACK SWAGGER-
Cody wins cleanly in ten minutes.

As he is on his way backstage, Matt Striker once again tries to ask Cody when he will go after Heath Slater to avenge Heath’s assault on his father, Dusty Rhodes, back at the 1000th episode of Raw. Cody gets fed up and says:
“You’re not going to stop asking me about this until I answer you, are you? You want to know what I want to do to Heath Slater every time I see him? I want to walk right up to him… and shake his hand. To shake his hand to thank him for opening my eyes. I sat there in a pool of my father’s blood. I stared at that blood and I thought to myself; ‘this stuff is supposed to mean something to me. This is what connects me to this injured old man lying in the ring. Then I thought about my father, and I realized that, for the past twenty years, my father has been nothing but an embarrassment. A fat old sack of crap. Then, on Smackdown, my brother Dustin showed up… and I looked at Dustin and remembered that he, too, is an embarrassment. A man so untalented that he has to act like a complete and total freak just to get attention. I thought about these two men and I came to the conclusion that I don’t want to be associated with them anymore.

Now, I could just give up the name “Cody Rhodes” and start calling myself something else, but everyone would still know who I am… so that leaves me with only one course of action. I am going to singlehandedly recover the Rhodes name. I am going to turn it from a joke into a threat. And I have been doing just that. Since my return, I have defeated Daniel Bryan and Jack Swagger, and won a big battle royale. Yes, I lost to Tyson Kidd, but that was my second match of the night. If you want to face me when I’m fresh, just put the belt on the line, Tyson. So there will be no bloody vengeance for the attacks on my father and my brother. They will stay forgotten, where they belong.

REY MYSTERIO vs. TYLER REKS-
Rey squashes Reks, then grabs a mic and demands a No DQ match against Del Rio

WWE DIVAS TITLE MATCH: Natalya(c) (w/Tyson Kidd) vs. Layla
Nattie wins cleanly in nine minutes. Beth Phoenix does guest commentary during this match, and she makes a comment about there being a lot of unworthy challengers for the Divas Title around here lately. After the match, she goes into the ring and celebtrates with Nattie and Tyson.

Backstage, the Big Show cuts a promo hyping up his match with Punk tonight. He will win the WWE, and it will be John Cena’s worst nightmare.

WWE UNITED STATES TITLE MATCH: Antonio Ceasro(c) (w/Aksana) vs. Sin Cara-
Cesaro wins clean in about ten minutes.

Backstage, Matt Striker asks Del Rio about Rey’s challenge. Del Rio replies “Be careful what you wish for, Chihuahua… because you just might get it.

DANIEL BRYAN (w/AJ Bryan) vs. ALBERTO DEL RIO (w/Ricardo Rodriguez)-
Dragon wins cleanly in twenty five minutes. The announcers once again put over how long Dragon has been in the ring, and how he controls the pace of the match.

WWE TITLE MATCH: CM Punk(c) vs. The Big Show-
Punk def. Show to retain because of distraction by Cena

Just announced for this week's Smackdown:
WWE.com runs an article saying that Smackdown GM Stephanie liked Paul Heyman's "Championship Monday" concept, so she has decided to extend it all week long. This week will be "Championship Week" in the WWE.

In the main event of this week's Superstars, Antonio Ceasro will defend his United States Championship against Rey Mysterio. If Rey should happen to win the title, Rey will be putting it on the line on Smackdown against Alberto Del Rio in the Street Fight that Rey had asked for on Raw. If Ceasro retains, he will defend the title on Smackdown against Jack Swagger.

Smackdown will also see Cody Rhodes challenge Tyson Kidd for the Intercontinental Title, and the Prime Time Players will defend the WWE World Tag Team Titles. In addition, a blockbuster main event has been announced: John Cena vs. The Big Show.

Smackdown (9/28/2012)- "Championship Friday"

WWE INTERCONTINENTAL TITLE MATCH: Tyson Kidd(c) (w/Natalya) vs. Cody Rhodes
Kidd wins when Goldust appears on the entrance ramp, distracting Cody, allowing Kidd to roll him up for the win. Goldust heads towards the ring, but Cody gets out of the ring and runs off through the stands. Goldust gives chase through the crowd, but Cody has a huge head start and soon runs to the promenade. After about forty seconds of the announcers wondering what that was all about, Cole receives word that Cody Rhodes just jumped in his car and left the building.

BETH PHOENIX vs. AKSANA-
Beth wins cleanly and dominantly in four minutes

We get another video package about Sheamus promoting WWE in Ireland, and Cole informs us that Sheamus will be back for next week's debut show of WWE Main Event.

STREET FIGHT: Rey Mysterio vs. Alberto Del Rio-
The two men are equal for about eight or ten minutes until Ricardo Rodriguez gets involved, giving Del Rio a major advantage. Del Rio concentrates on Rey’s arm, hitting it with various weapons. When Del Rio goes for a cross armbreaker, Rey manages to block it and roll Del Rio up for the win. After the match, Del Rio hits Rey from behind and he and Rodriguez beat Rey down, ending with a Pillmanizer on Rey’s arm.

Matt Striker is interviewing Beth Phoenix when AJ walks up to Beth to congratulate her on her win tonight. Beth tells AJ “I’m trying to do an interview here, now get out of my face, pipsqueak.” AJ leaves, and Beth cuts a promo saying that the Women’s division isn’t what it used to be, and that she and Nattie are the only two good wrestlers in it.

Wade Barrett return video package- Barrett will return next week on Smackdown

SIN CARA vs. DANIEL BRYAN (w/AJ Bryan)-
Dragon def. Sin Cara in twelve minutes. Dragon controlled the pace of the match, keeping Cara grounded, and the announcers put that fact over big.

WWE UNITED STATES TITLE MATCH: Antonio Cesaro(c) (w/Aksana) vs. Jack Swagger
Swagger had control of the match, but a ref bump allowed Ziggler to grab the US Title belt, slide into the ring and hit Swagger with it. Cesaro looked annoyed at Ziggler, and when he revived the ref, rather than just going for the cover, he picked Swagger up and hit him with the Gotch-Style Neutralizer. Cesaro then pinned Swagger to retain the US Title.

When we come back from commercial, the announcers start hyping up the main event, but are interrupted when Cole says that he is getting word from backstage that Jack Swagger has something to say. We cut to backstage where Swagger, exhausted and in pain, is standing with Matt Striker. Swagger says that tonight, Dolph Ziggler cost him the US Title. This is just one of many, many matches he and Dolph have cost each other over the past month. He says that it is time that they stopped concentrating on making each losers, and started concentrating on finding out who deserves to be the winner. Next week, Raw is in Swagger’s home state of Oklahoma, and he wants to get in the ring with Dolph and do what they both do best: wrestle… and see who the better man truly is.

Randy Orton comes out and says that it wouldn’t be a “Championship” edition of Smackdown without the WWE Champion, but since Punk is doing media appearances for the WWE in Japan today, everyone will have to settle for the next WWE Champion instead. Orton points out that Punk has needed help to retain the belt in his last two defenses, and says that Punk looks “very vulnerable” to him. Orton then pledges to return from filming his WWE Studios movie, show up at Hell In A Cell, and leave Atlanta as the new WWE Champion.

PTP come out and say that the reason that they backed out of defending the tag team titles on Raw this week was because they were unhappy with the position they would have been in on the card because of all of the other big matches, but agreed to defend them tonight because Steph guaranteed them the semi-main event spot. They that they will face the first team to come out here. The first guy to come out is Kofi Kingston, and soon behind him is R-Truth. R-Truth gets ready to start the match but Kofi gets pissed and says that he doesn’t want to team with R-Truth. He wants to team with someone who will take the match seriously. Steph comes out and says that Kofi and Truth both have until the end of the commercial break to find a partner, and when Smackdown comes back, the WWE World Tag Team Titles will be on the line in a triple threat tag team match.

When we get back from commercial, Kofi comes out onto the ramp and introduces his new, more serious tag team partner- a man he doesn’t like, but whose seriousness he admires: Damien Sandow. As Sandow starts cutting a promo (Kofi rolls his eyes at Sandow’s rant about the WWE Universe), R-Truth comes out and says that when he was looking for his partner, he and Little Jimmy tried to find the guy in the locker room who most reminded him of himself: Brodus Clay.

TRIPLE THREAT TAG TEAM MATCH FOR THE WWE WORLD TAG TEAM TITLES: The Prime Time Players(c) vs. Kofi Kingston & Damien Sandow vs. R-Truth & Brodus Clay-
PTP win after Darren Young hits his finisher on Kofi and gets the pin to retain the titles.

Michael Cole gives us two medical updates. The first is on Rey Mysterio: Due to injuries he suffered tonight at the hands of Alberto Del Rio, Rey will be out of action for a few weeks. The second medical update is on Christian. It turns out that his arm injury is a bit worse than originally thought, and he will be out for a week or two longer than originally expected.

JOHN CENA vs. THE BIG SHOW:
About eight minutes in, Cena has been controlling a good portion of the match. Show gets frustrated and walks out, allowing Cena to win via count-out. Cena gets on the mic and demands that Show return to finish the match. Show doesn’t come back, so Cena calls him a coward. Show still doesn’t come back. Backstage, a camera catches up to Big Show. Show tells the cameraman that he doesn’t feel like wrestling anymore tonight. He can walk out if he wants. He technically wrestled a full official match, so he will still get paid and that is all that he cares about.
There are still fifteen minutes left in the show, and Cena doesn’t want to disappoint the fans, so he calls for an open challenge… which is answered by Seth Rollins.

JOHN CENA vs. SETH ROLLINS-
Rollins has an excellent showing and lasts twelve minutes against Cena, but eventually is pinned after an Attitude Adjustment. After the match, Cena grabs a mic and puts Rollins over huge, both in terms of in-ring skills and heart. He says that Rollins will be a major player in the WWE in the future and the show ends with Cena raising Rollins' hand.

Raw (10/1/2012)

Raw opens with Paul Heyman cutting a promo blasting Steph for stealing his “Championship Monday” idea last week, but points out that she couldn’t even do it right because she didn’t have either the WWE Champion or the World Heavyweight Champion on the show at all.
Heyman then spends some time praising Seth Rollins for his performance on Smackdown against John Cena, and says that he is rewarding Rollins with a match tonight against an established WWE Superstar.

Wade Barrett return video package- Barrett will return this Friday Night on Smackdown

SETH ROLLINS vs. ALBERTO DEL RIO (w/Ricardo Rodriguez)-
Del Rio wins in ten minutes, but Rollins once again puts up a heck of a fight.

CM Punk comes out to cut a promo on Orton. Punk says that Orton saying that he is vulnerable is disrespectful to him. He says that he never asked for help in his matches, and he is confident that he can beat John Cena, the Big Show, Randy Orton, Dwayne, or anyone else with no interferences at all. He also calls Orton a coward for talking smack about him while he wasn’t there, and knowing that he would be off filming his movie when Punk got back so he wouldn’t have to say it to Punk’s face.

Backstage, Alberto Del Rio cuts a promo about how happy he is to have injured Rey, and promises that if Rey ever sets foot in a WWE ring again, he will injure him even more.

DANIEL BRYAN (w/AJ Bryan) vs. THE BIG SHOW-
Once again, Dragon manages to control the pace of the match, this time using his quickness to launch quick kicks at Big Show, chopping the giant down, then wearing him down with sleeper holds and headlocks. Every time Show goes for a move, Dragon is able to move out of the way. After about eight minutes, Show gets frustrated and walks out on the match.

Matt Striker is interviewing Cody Rhodes backstage. Striker asks Cody about Goldust’s appearance on Smackdown last week and why Cody ran away from him. Cody says that he won’t comment on that. What he will comment on, though, is the Usos. He compliments them for having successfully done what he himself wishes he could do: they have managed to make people forget that their father was a fat embarrassment who couldn’t dance to save his life.

RYBACK SQUASH

The Prime Time Players come out to the ring and say that they have a major announcement. They want to prove that they are the best athletes in the WWE, so they will defend the WWE World Tag Team Titles against teams of their choosing that they think represent the best WWE has to offer of the various styles of pro wrestling. Tonight, they will take on the two best brawlers in the WWE: John Cena... and Johnny Curtis (I would have them make it clear that, to them, Curtis is a joke, and they think that he will be easy pickings)

WWE WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH: The Prime Time Players(c) vs. John Cena & Johnny Curtis-
PTP pick Curtis apart, but take him a bit too lightly, which winds up allowing him to make the hot tag to Cena. Cena starts to dominate the match, but just when it looks like he might make O’Neil tap, Young shoves Curtis into the ref, causing a ref bump. Cena & Curtis control the match until the Big Show comes out and hits Cena with a WMD. When the ref recovers, O’Neil covers Cena and gets the pin.

Michael Cole tells us that he has just learned from sources inside the WWE that Randy Orton saw Punk’s promo and immediately went to the WWE Films executives and demanded that shooting be rescheduled so he could be at the debut of WWE’s Main Event this Wednesday night. He has just tweeted that he and Punk can settle this on Wednesday, face-to-face.

Jack Swagger comes out and cuts a big babyface promo for his hometown, promising to win tonight’s main event.

AJ BRYAN (w/DANIEL BRYAN) vs. LAYLA EL-
AJ wins clean in six minutes. Beth comes out to do commentary for this match and completely buries AJ (she buries Layla, too, but concentrates most of the hate on AJ). At one point Dragon walks over to her and asks her what her problem is. Beth ignores him.

Backstage, the Prime Time Players are very psyched from just having beaten Cena- O’Neil especially. Young say that now that they have beaten the best brawlers that WWE has to offer, on Wednesday night on the debut of WWE”s Main Event, they will defend the titles against the best technical wrestlers WWE has to offer. Before he can name anyone, though, O’Neil cuts in and shouts “I’m on top of the world, baby! Send me anyone! Hell, we can even take on Daniel Bryan and Jack Swagger!”
Darren Young immediately gets a concerned look in his face, as unlike the team of Cena and Curtis, the team of Dragon and Swagger has no obvious weak link. O’Neil realizes what his excitement and euphira have caused him to do and he immediately apologizes to Young.

KOFI KINGSTON vs. ANTONIO CESARO (w/Aksana) vs. DAMIEN SANDOW vs. BRODUS CLAY (w/the Funkadactlys)-
Clay and Sandow brawl with each other while Kingston and Cesaro go at it. R-Truth comes to ringside, which catches Kofi’s attention for long enough for Sandow to break away from Clay and roll Kofi up for the pin. A furious Kofi storms away from the ring, and R-Truth follows him, trying to talk to him.

When we get back from commercial, Truth has finally caught up to Kofi. He tells Kofi that he didn’t mean to cost him the match. He only wanted to wait around until the match was over so he could ask him why he has been so grumpy lately. Kofi says that every time R-Truth does anything, it winds up costing him matches. He tells R-Truth to stay away from him.

THE USOS vs. CODY RHODES & THE MIZ-
Goldust shows up once again, and once again Cody runs away from him, thourgh the stands, to the parking lot, into his car, and out of the arena. This leaves Miz without a partner, and he is pinned by Jey Uso after a Superfly Splash

Dolph Ziggler cuts a backstage promo promising to ruin Swagger’s homecoming.

Sheamus appears on the TitanTron, live, via satellite. He says that, because he has been promoting the WWE in Ireland, he hasn’t had a match in two weeks and is worried that he might be a little bit rusty. He says that the best way for him to make sure that he is on is game is to challenge the toughest opponent he can find. He would love wrestle Punk, but it seems like Punk might have his hands full with Randy Orton, so Sheamus says that he will have to settle for someone equally tough, but not the WWE Champion. On the first ever WWE Main Event, Sheamus will have his first match back from Ireland against… John Cena.

JACK SWAGGER vs. DOLPH ZIGGLER (w/Vickie Guerrero)-
Swagger and Ziggler have a great, back and forth wrestling match for fifteen minutes until Ziggler hits Swagger with a blatant low blow. Vickie then hands Dolph a chair, and he beats the crap out of Swagger with it, leaving Swagger lying in a pool of his own blood.

Mid-day Wednesday, WWE.com announces that a source has told them that several wrestlers, including Wade Barrett and Kofi Kingston, have made demands of WWE Management, and that Raw GM Paul Heyman and Smackdown GM Stephanie McMahon will meet sometime this evening to address those demands.

WWE.com also announces that because Jack Swagger will be unable to wrestle tonight, the Prime Time Players will be allowed to pick a substitute technical wrestler to team with Daniel Bryan in tonight's WWE World Tag Team Title match.

WWE Main Event: (10/3/2012)
PTP announce that Dragon’s new tag team partner tonight will be one of the most technically skilled up and comers in WWE: Richie Steamboat. They then make a joking comment about how he has yet to win a match anywhere but NXT.

WWE WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH: The Prime Time Players(c) vs. Richie Steamboat & Daniel Bryan (w/AJ Bryan)-
PTP win clean in nine minutes after Richie eats their finisher.

Backstage, Matt Striker asks Nattie for her thoughts on her Divas’ Title match at Hell in a Cell, but before Nattie can answer, an angry Big Show storms into the frame and demands to know where Steph and Heyman are. Scared, Striker gives him directions to a conference room. Show storms off in that direction, yelling angrily, and the cameraman follows him. When he gets to the door to the conference room, Show doesn’t even bother opening it. He just kicks it in. Steph, Heyman, and a few corporate suits turn around, startled.
Show demands to know why he wasn’t even on tonight’s card, never mind in the main event where he belongs. Steph tells him that tonight is a big night for the WWE, and they didn’t want a match- especially the main event- to end with Show just deciding to walk off because he doesn’t feel like wrestling anymore. Furious, Show walks off, muttering something about “showing them.”

Randy Orton comes out, mic in hand, and calls out CM Punk. Punk comes to the ring with a mic of his own.

Punk: So you finally found your testicles again, huh, Randy? Finally found the courage to disrespect me to my face and face the music for it?

Orton: I don’t think I was disrespectful to you at all, Punk. I just called it like saw it. You look vulnerable. And speaking of disrespect, aren’t you the guy who came from the place where not shaking someone’s hand was the ultimate disrespect? I have tried to shake your hand multiple times over the past few months, but you've snubbed me every time. If anyone should be feeling disrespected right now, it’s me.

Punk: You want to know why I didn’t shake your hand, Randy? It’s simple. As you talking about my history indicates, I wasn’t born yesterday. That place I come from had another rule, too: No sneak-attacks. I’m not an idiot, Randy. I know how this goes. I’ve seen you do it a thousand times, and I saw Dwayne do it a thousand more times before you. I shake your hand… and you wind up giving me one of those famous “out of nowhere” RKOs.

Orton: That’s what you are hung up on? I’ve shaken hands with Cena, Christian, and others and haven’t RKOed any of them.

Punk: Because you had no cause to. You weren't chasing their titles. And now you want me to trust the Viper? Sorry Randy, Leopards don’t change their spots, and a snake will always be a snake.

Orton: So the “Best in the World” is scared of an RKO? If you’re the best in the world, you have nothing to fear, Punk. If I don’t try to RKO you, everything is all happy and good. If I do try to RKO you, shouldn’t “the Best in the World” be able to counter it… especially if he knows it's coming?

Randy smirks and offers Punk a handshake. Punk thinks about it for a minute, then accepts the handshake. As the they go to break the handshake, Orton keeps his grip, pulls Punk back towards him… and just laughs a little Surprisingly, Punk starts laughing, too.

KNEE TO THE GUT BY PUNK! KICK TO THE HEAD! GTS!

Punk walks to the back, his face stoic.

Wade Barrett return video package- Barrett will return this Friday Night on Smackdown

JOHN CENA vs. SHEAMUS-
Cena wins by DQ when the Big Show comes out and hits him with a WMD. Sheamus and Show then brawl and most of the locker room comes out to break it up. As both guys are being held back, both Heyman and Steph come out and shout angrily at Big Show.

Smackdown (10/5/2012)

Smackdown starts with Steph coming out to the ring. She says that she wants to start Smacdown off with a bang… and that bang will be a Summer Slam rematch: Kane vs. Sheamus

SHEAMUS vs. KANE-
Sheamus wins clean in just under fourteen minutes. After the match, Kane offers him a handshake and Sheamus accepts. The announcers put over the fact that fourteen minutes is one of the longest amounts of time someone has lasted against Sheamus since he won the World Heavyweight Championship.

WADE BARRETT PROMO- Wade Barrett returns to Smackdown. He cuts a promo talking about going back to his roots of bare-knuckles fighting and how he has now become even more dangerous than ever. He then says that he wants to address John Cena’s comments about him from two weeks ago. Barrett says that everything Cena said was true. He has been able to get where he is now without any support or help from the fans, so he doesn’t see why he should start looking for it now. He says that he will prove to Cena that he doesn’t need the fans to be successful by taking out Cena tonight. Cena comes out and they agree to the match.

After a commercial, we come back in Steph’s office where Steph is talking to Big Show. She tells Show that she and Heyman met to discuss Show’s recent behavior and have agreed that Show will be punished if he interferes in any more of John Cena’s matches. Show blows the whole thing off, seemingly not caring at all. On his way out of Steph’s office, Show bumps into a seemingly irritated Kofi Kingston.

AJ BRYAN (w/Daniel Bryan) vs. KAITLYN-
AJ wins clean in five minutes.

PTP cut a backstage promo talking up their recent successes defending the tag team titles.

CM Punk comes out to the ring with a mic in hand. He cuts a promo saying that he acted a bit out of character at WWE Main Event when he attacked Randy Orton, but this isn’t the start of something new. He is still the same honest, honorable CM Punk he always has been. He was just proving a point to Randy: He is not as vulnerable as Randy thinks.

Backstage, Matt Striker is interviewing Beth Phoenix. He asks her why she has been so mean to AJ. Beth starts to once again bury AJ when Natalya shows up. She tells Beth to stop being such a b*tch. Beth says “oh come on! Do you really see AJ as a threat? She isn’t in our league. I doubt it would take more than three minutes to snap her in half like a twig.”
Nattie responds by putting AJ over as being tough, full of heart, and a great wrestler. Beth just rolls her eyes.

WWE INTERCONTINENTAL TITLE MATCH: Tyson Kidd(c) vs. Cody Rhodes
Once again Goldust appears and heads towards the ring. Cody leaves the ring, yelling “GO AWAY DUSTIN!” but this causes him to lose by count-out. Cody then tries to run away from Goldust, but then rethinks it. Instead he goes to Goldust and says “If I hear you out, will you leave me alone?” Goldust agrees, and they go backstage to talk.

DANIEL BRYAN (w/AJ Bryan) vs. BRODUS CLAY (w/the Funkadactyls)-
Dragon wins clean Brodus Clay in sixteen minutes, wearing Brodus down with various submissions, controlling the pace of the match, and finishing him off with the Yes Lock.

THE MIZ, DOLPH ZIGGLER, & ALBERTO DEL RIO (w/Vickie Guerrero & Ricardo Rodriguez) vs. BO DALLAS, MICHAEL MCGILLICUTTY, & KENNETH CAMERON-
The heels win clean when Ziggler pins Cameron

WADE BARRETT vs. JOHN CENA-
Barrett puts up a great fight and lasts ten minutes against Cena, but then Cena starts to take over. Shortly after that, the Big Show comes out and attacks Cena, causing a DQ. Show beats Cena down, and then Steph comes out, furious. She says that she and Heyman warned Show not to interfere in Cena’s matches. Show asks “what are you going to do? Fire me? You can’t.” Steph acknowledges that she can’t fire Big Show, but she still controls his bookings. If Show ever wants another shot at a title again, he will have to abide to Steph and Heyman’s rules.

Raw (10/8/2012)
Sacramento, CA
John Cena calls out Sheamus and cuts a promo saying that he is disappointed that the Big Show ruined their match on the first ever WWE Main Event, but now that Steph and Heyman have made sure that this will not happen, he wants to give the fans the match they deserve. Sheamus says that he was looking for someone to fight tonight and because of the thirty days clause, he needs to defend his title this week. He has been looking for someone worthy to defend his title against. Heyman then comes out and makes it official: tonight’s main event will be Sheamus vs. John Cena for the World Heavyweight Title.

We see Goldust engaging in some backstage antics with R-Truth, Santino, and Zack Ryder. Heath Slater walks into the room, then sees Goldust and, locks eyes with him, and runs away. Ryder asks Goldust why he isn’t going to go kick Slater’s ass. Goldust says that he is pretty sure that he won’t have to because someone else will be kicking Slater’s ass soon enough. They then go back to their comedy antics.

Beth Phoenix comes to the ring and calls AJ out. She says that if AJ is as good as Nattie says she is, she’ll be able to last at least five minutes in the ring with her. AJ accepts.

FIVE MINUTE CHALLENGE: Beth Phoenix vs. AJ Bryan-
Beth gets an early advantage and beats the crap out of AJ with power moves. AJ tires to fight back but Beth overpowers her. Beth starts mocking AJ and not taking her seriously, leading to AJ rolling Beth up for the pin at about 4:30. Beth goes ballistic, and AJ bails.

The Prime Time Players cut a backstage promo in which Titus O’Neil claims that if Cena deserves a World Heavyweight Title shot then he does to because he beat Cena last week on Raw.

RYBACK vs. THE KINGS OF CHANGE-
Ryback wins in a squash.

Cody Rhodes comes out to the ring to cut a promo:
Cody: Last week, I finally agreed to hear my brother Dustin out. As I’m sure you all figured out, Dustin pleaded with me to go after Heath Slater. He said that there is no reason that I can’t both continue my request to recover the Rhodes name from the joke it has become and make it feared again and avenge Heath Slater’s assault on our father at the 1000th episode of Monday Night Raw. In fact, Dustin suggested that I make an example out of Heath Slater. That I show the world what a Rhodes man can do by making Heath Slater pay for assaulting our father, WWE Hall of Famer Dusty Rhodes.

I thought about it all weekend… and it sounded pretty good. Then I got to Raw tonight and I saw this:
*the TitanTron plays the clips of Goldust, Truth, Ryder, and Santino from earlier tonight, of Heath Slater running away from them, Goldust’s comments, and them going back to their antics*

Cody: My brother Dustin acting like a complete and total freak. Then he has the chance to get revenge on Heath Slater… but rather than doing so, he just goes back to acting like a freak, leaving me to fight our family’s battle. This is what the Rhodes family has come to. This is why I don’t want to be associated with the Rhodes family anymore. This is why I won’t be giving a damn about Heath Slater. This is why my father and brother are embarrassments who don’t deserve vengeance. Hell, now that I think about it from this angle, I think it was a good thing that Heath Slater assaulted my father. Hopefully he will never be seen on TV again to embarrass himse-.
Goldust’s music plays and he charges into the ring. Cody looks annoyed until Goldust walks right up to him and slaps him across the face. Cody’s expression changes to one of shock. Goldust slaps him again. Cody kicks Goldust in the gut, then hits him with a big forearm. DISASTER KICK by Cody! CROSSRHODES!
Cody angrily walks off.

We get some video footage of William Regal, Aksana, The Miz, and Antonio Cesaro doing media appearances in Europe to promote WWE’s upcoming tour there.

THE BIG SHOW, HUNICO, CAMACHO, & DOLPH ZIGGLER (w/Vickie Guerrero) vs. SIN CARA, SANTINO MARELLA, KASSIUS OHNO, &, TYSON KIDD (w/Natalya)-
The heels wins cleanly in ten minutes when Ziggler pins Santino.

A very angry Kofi Kingston comes out to the ring. Kofi says that he tried to get WWE management to ban R-Truth from ringside for all of his matches and to make sure that he and Truth would never have to be in the same match again, but WWE Heyman and Steph said no. Because of this, he has had to take drastic action. Earlier today, he filed for a restraining order against R-Truth.
Truth comes out and says something along the lines of “don’t be like that, man,” but Kofi just shoves past him and blows him off.

CM PUNK vs. ALBERTO DEL RIO (w/Ricardo Rodriguez)-
Punk wins clean in fifteen minutes

Wade Barrett comes out to the ring and says that he doesn’t need the support of the fans to get ahead. He is the most dangerous man in the WWE, and he is willing to sell his talents to the highest bidder. He says that he will now demonstrate his abilities, and makes an open challenge to anyone in the locker room. Jinder Mahal comes out to answer the challenge.

WADE BARRETT vs. JINDER MAHAL-
Barrett wins in seven minutes, completely dominating Mahal, finishing him off with a combination o vicious punches to the face and gut, ending with a Spinning Backfist. Barrett gets on the mic and says “how was that for a 'Barrett Barrage,' eh? Wade Barrett is now open for business.”

We get a video package telling us that Christian will return from his injury on Wednesday night at WWE’s Main Event.

KANE vs. DANIEL BRYAN (w/AJ Bryan)-
Dragon wins clean in seventeen minutes. As he has done over the past few weeks, Dragon uses lots of submission holds to control the pace and wear his opponent down.

NXT SHOWCASE MATCH: Seth Rollins vs. Bo Dallas:
Rollins wins in ten minutes. Paul Heyman is on commentary for this match. He puts over Rollins and blasts Steph for not using him at all despite the amazing effort he put in against John Cena ten days ago on Smackdown. Heyman contrasts that with himself, who made sure that Rollins was rewarded not only with air time, but with matches against a top name like Alberto Del Rio last week.

WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH: Sheamus(c) vs. John Cena-
Sheamus wins clean in twenty minutes.

The hype for WWE’s Main Event revolves around two matches:
Wade Barrett says that he wants more dangerous competition to prove his skills against, so he has been put in a match against Alberto Del Rio. Christian will return to action from his injury a few weeks ago, and he will take on John Cena.

WWE Main Event
: (10/10/2012)
WADE BARRETT vs. ALBERTO DEL RIO (w/Ricardo Rodriguez)-
Barrett wins clean in twelve minutes.

YOSHI TATSU vs. DOLPH ZIGGLER (w/Vickie Guerrero)-

Smackdown (10/12/2012)

Smackdown opens with John Cena coming to the ring. He congratulates both Sheamus and Christian for beating him, and remarks on how nice it has been to be able to have a match without the Big Show sticking his fist in it. That being said, he is still ticked off at Show for both attacking him and for ruining a whole bunch of good matches that the fans pair their hard-earned money to see. Show comes out and says that the fans don’t matter at all. They don’t care about the wrestlers, so the wrestlers shouldn’t care about them. He brings up the fact that the fans popped when Dragon cashed in MITB on him last year and claims that the fans didn’t care when he got fired. He blasts the fans for cheering for The Rock- a guy who is barely around and just comes in to steal the spotlight every once in a while, when he attacked Cena for no reason last year. He even brings up Cena’s own success in spite of the segment of the WWE Universe that craps all over him no matter what he does.

Show and Cena attempt to engage in a philosophical debate but realize that they are at an impasse. They agree that they will both fight to prove their positions, and decide to take out their excess aggression against each other in a match at Hell in a Cell.
Steph comes out and makes it official, then also announces tonight’s main event: John Cena & Randy Orton vs. The Big Show & CM Punk.

When we come back from commercial, Matt Striker is standing by with Randy Orton. He asks Randy to comment on CM Punbk’s attack on him at WWE Main Event last week. Orton congratulates Punk on “a job well done,” and says that he can’t wait for their match tonight.

WWE INTERCONTINENTAL TITLE MATCH: Tyson Kidd(c) (w/Natalya) vs. Ted Dibiase Jr.
Kidd wins clean to retain. After the match, Cody Rhodes comes out and says that he still deserves a shot at the IC Title because Goldust screwed him out of his last two shots.

Matt Striker is interviewing Kofi Kingston about the status of his restraining order against R-Truth. Kofi says that the court thought it was impractical and a matter that WWE should handle internally, so they threw it out. Kofi is annoyed by this. Wade Barrett comes up to him and says that, there is another way to make sure that R-Truth is never near or in the ring during a Kofi Kingston match again… if Kofi will pony up the cash. Kofi says that he doesn’t want Truth’s career ended. He just wants Truth’s career away from his. Barrett says that he thinks that Kofi doubts his ability to hurt someone in the ring. Kofi says he isn’t afraid of Barrett, and they decide to have a match later tonight.

We get a backstage segment with Dragon and AJ. They are sad because Dragon will miss AJ’s match because he has to warm up for his own match, which is on afterwards. They do their mushy-gushy romance stuff. Good-luck kisses, pet-names, etc.

AJ BRYAN vs. LAYLA EL-
AJ wins clean in four minutes. After the match, Beth jumps AJ, but Natalya makes the save. Dragon runs out to make sure that AJ is okay.

DANIEL BRYAN (w/AJ Bryan) vs. MASON RYAN-
Dragon manages to completely out run Ryan, blowing him up, then wearing him down with a series of submissions holds, before finally getting the win in eight minutes.

We are informed via satellite by Ricardo Rodriguez that Del Rio isn’t here tonight because his face is still bruised from his match with Wade Barrett on Main Event, and he doesn’t want to appear before the WWE Universe when he is not looking his best because to do so would be beneath him.

Sheamus addresses Titus O’Neil’s comments about wanting a World Heavyweight Title match from Raw. He says that if O’Neil wants a shot, he should come out and get it.

WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH: Sheamus(c) vs. Titus O’Neil (w/Darren Young)-
Sheamus wins clean in nine minutes.

We cut backstage to Steph’s office, where Christian has been called to see the GM. He asks who he will be facing at Hell in a Cell. Steph tells him that, because of his impressive win streak, she and Heyman have decided to let him choose. Christian says he will need to think about it.

WADE BARRETT vs. KOFI KINGSTON-
Barrett takes control of the match and does a lot of damage to Kofi. Truth comes out to yell at Barrett and try to convince the ref that he should DQ Barrett for excessive punishment but Kofi fights back. When Kofi sees Truth, it distracts him and allows Barrett to hit the Barrett Barrage (Backfist to the Future) and pick up the win.

Matt Striker is interviewing Dolph Ziggler backstage. He says that “The Showoff” has been uncharacteristically quiet about his assault on Jack Swagger (normally Ziggler would be bragging about this, like he did with Jericho). Striker asks Ziggler if maybe he is feeling some remorse for taking out his former friend and tag team partner.
Ziggler says that the reason he hasn’t bragged about it is because Jack Swagger is a loser, and beating a big loser like Swagger isn’t even worth bragging about.

RANDY ORTON & JOHN CENA vs. CM PUNK & THE BIG SHOW-
After taking a major pummeling from Orton at about the fifteen minute mark, Show manages to tag in to Punk, then walks off. This distracts Punk, allowing Orton to hit him with an RKO and pin him.
