BRM Reviews the 5/11/2012 Smackdown

RANDY ORTON & SHEAMUS vs. CHRIS JERICHO & ALBERTO DEL RIO (w/Ricardo Rodriguez)- DUD! If you want to do the damn singles match, just do the singles matches. Don’t waste ten minutes doing a no-finish tag team match.

AJ vs. KAITLYN- AWESOME squash. That knee to the head looked BRUTAL! The aftermath with Dragon was eh. I liked it in the beginning, but I think it would be better to have Dragon take AJ in and use her like an attack dog (king of like the way that the BDK used Delirious). To have Dragon send the absolutely ruthless AJ after people (especially someone who might have trouble hitting back because she is a woman… kind of like the Throwbacks vs. Sara and Daizee). Doing that makes Dragon look like a selfish manipulator, using AJ to further his own career. The way they did it here just makes Dragon a jerk, which is a much less interesting character.

DANIEL BRYAN vs. THE BIG SHOW- DUD!
There was no reason for the Montreal Finish. The same thing would have been accomplished by having Johnny Ace distract Big Show and Dragon roll him up, except it would get actual heat, rather than people groaning because of the Montreal Finish.

THE BIG SHOW & JOHN LAURINAITIS SEGMENT- GREAT!

RYBACK vs. HEATH SLATER- squash

ALEX RILEY vs. ANTONIO CESARO (w/Aksana)- good squash, and overall, a very good segment.

RANDY ORTON vs. ALBERTO DEL RIO (w/Ricardo Rodriguez)- no rating. Good segment.

JACK SWAGGER (w/Vickie Guerrero & Dolph Ziggler) vs. R-TRUTH (w/Kofi Kingston)- 3.75/10

DARREN YOUNG & TITUS O’NEAL vs. CO-BRO (Santino Marella & Zack Ryder)- 4.25/10
I popped for O’Neil clotheslining Santino and his stupid cobra.

AFTERMATH… WHAT THE F*CK ARE YOUNG AND O’NEAL DOING?!

BRODUS CLAY (w/the Funkadactyls) vs. HUNICO (w/Camacho)- squash
Hunico’s pre-match promo was unenjoyable.

DAMIEN SANDOW PROMO- GREAT!

SHEAMUS vs. CHRIS JERICHO- 6.25/10 as a match, but I will let it go for not being good enough for a main event because this was much more effective at hyping up the World Heavyweight Title match than the scrum at the beginning of the show, although I think it would have been better if Orton had dropped Sheamus with an RKO at the end.

Overall, not such a good episode of Smackdown

one does not simply roll up big show

it was a decent show considering there were some duds and a bunch of squashes.
I've always liked Hunico, but i really found him enjoyable here

It is doable, especially if he is distracted. Maybe not a normal school-boy, but I think that something (for lack of a better term)... technical (like a three-quarter nelson roll-up or one of those double chicken-wing pins or something) would have worked a lot better here.
