BRM Reviews TNA Turning Point 2004

Post by Big Red Machine » Feb 7th, '12, 23:26

TNA Turning Point 2004 (12/5/2004)- Orlando, FL

OPENING VIDEO PACKAGE- a good juxtaposition to show us what we were dealing with with these two teams in the main event.

TNA WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH: The 3 Live Kru (Ron “The Truth” Killings & B.G. James)(c) vs. Team Canada (Eric Young & Bobby Roode) (w/Scott D’Amore)- 5.25/10

“SHANE DOUGLAS INTERVIEWS DUSTY RHODES- the “cookie-gate” line was funny, but the whole angle this kicked off was moronic.

SONNY SIAKI, HECTOR GARZA, & SONJAY DUTT vs. KID KASH, KAZARIAN, & MATT BENTLEY (w/Traci)- 6.75/10.
Great story with the heels working over Sonjay’s Arm.

RANDY SAVAGE PROMO- okay

PETEY WILLIAMS & SCOTT D’AMORE PROMO- GREAT!

SERENGETI SURVIVAL MATCH: Abyss vs. “The Alpha Male” Monty Brown- 7/10. Great finishing sequence

TAG TEAM MATCH WITH JACQUELINE AS SPECIAL GUEST REFEREE: The New York Connection (Glen Gilberti & Johnny Swinger) vs. Johnny B. Badd & Pat Kenney- 5.25/10

SAVAGE GETS KIDNAPPED- dumb.

RAVEN vs. DIAMOND DALLAS PAGE- 4.25/10.
Ridiculously confusing/stupid overbooking kills an otherwise okay match

TNA X-DIVISION TITLE MATCH: Petey Williams(c) (w/Scott D’Amore) vs. Chris Sabin- 8.5/10.
AWESOME! Go watch this match now!

THE KINGS OF WRESTLING (Jeff Jarrett, Scott Hall, & Kevin Nash) vs. AJ Styles, Jeff Hardy, & “Macho Man” Randy Savage- 7.5/10.
The finish looked weak, but otherwise this match was very well done. Props to the announcers for putting over the fact that Savage was fresh when he came out so it didn’t look like he was doing what AJ and Jeff couldn’t.

SEGMENTS MAKING FUN OF VINCE & TRIPLE H & THE FOOTAGE WWE DIDN’T WANT THEM TO SHOW- Should not have been aired. I don’t know what they thought they were doing, but this made TNA look like jackasses. Combine that with all of the time wasted with the moronic “Triple H & Vince” segments (including one where a midget claiming to be a TNA Official punches “Vince” in the balls for no real reason), and this becomes a disaster.

STEEL CAGE MATCH IN WHICH THE LOSING TEAM MUST DISBAND: America’s Most Wanted vs. Triple X (Christopher Daniels & Elix Skipper)- 9.25/10.
AMAZING MATCH! WOW! GO WATCH THIS RIGHT NOW. Even before you go watch Sabin vs. Petey.

Overall, an awesome show from TNA!
