The fuck is wrong with the IWC these days? [NoC SPOILERS]
Okay, so the main things I'm seeing people bitching about with the main event:
* The sports entertainment finish:
WWE is sports entertainment finish. Sports entertainment finish is also the only way Punk could lose and stay strong with something to bitch and moan about.
* Punk got a "Triple H burial":
No. No CM Punk did not get buried in any sense of the word. He got some decent offence in, he then got attacked by Truth and Miz, then took a Pedigree, then took another Pedigree, then kicked out, then got beat up by Nash, then took ANOTHER Pedigree and lost. That's not what I call a burial. A burial is three pedigrees in succession with no interference and no pins, and CM Punk just dying. Taking three pedigrees and a shit load of interference, just to put you down for three? That's fucking heroic.
* Punk didn't win:
That's life. Get over it.

I've not seen any Punk bashing, I think most people would understand the finish was made to keep HHH as COO & Not hurt the ever progressing Punk.
Where's this stemmed from?

Other places like reddit. It's just my observation on the typical shit on everything IWC. Luckily we don't see a lot of it here.Styles wrote:I've not seen any Punk bashing, I think most people would understand the finish was made to keep HHH as COO & Not hurt the ever progressing Punk.

Re: The f**k is wrong with the IWC these days? [NoC SPOILERS
My gripe was with the match itself; I didn't enjoy it. Plus, all the interference and none of it seemed to make much of a difference. Lastly, nothing major happened. I felt like HHH and Punk both could have looked strong if Nash would have just left after he Powerbombed Punk. Then HHH could have unknowingly taken advantage and Punk could continue to believe HHH had something to do with it. With the finish they have, it seems like somebody will end up having to take a step back.
If this was all set up to publicly fire Laurenitis (which it seems is what's next on the agenda) then it seems kinda anti-climactic. If it turns out that this was part of HHH's plan all along, then it's just too involved; almost Russo-esque to involve that many ppl only to have a finish without any of the two participants getting or losing any heat...

I definitely see where you're coming from, and those are all valid points. I just see a lot of people shitting all over it because it didn't happen the exact way they wanted it to happen. Regardless of its faults, I still thought it was a brilliant match, and if anything all the interference added to the fact that Triple H is losing control over the company, and it adds fuel to CM Punk's mission to get him out of there. The fact that CM Punk got screwed over by Laurinitis also adds another thing for Punk to complain about.badnewzxl wrote:My gripe was with the match itself; I didn't enjoy it. I feel you; and I'm trying not to come off as shitting on the match but I felt the interference went nowhere. Plus, given what went down, Punk shouldn't even be pissed at HHH anymore; it's obvious that Laurenitis has undermined this entire situation. If he's not fired 2mrw, it'll be obvious to me that HHH is actually behind this entire thing; which would suck as bad as the formation of Immortal....kiel297 wrote:I definitely see where you're coming from, and those are all valid points. I'm thinking that the rivalry between Punk and Trips will continue on a personal level like it has been, but Trips will have to deal with Laurinitis trying to gain control of the company.badnewzxl wrote: I feel you; and I'm trying not to come off as S**ting on the match but I felt the interference went nowhere. Three Pedigrees in succession is not a burial. That is making someone look strong. If it took THREE finishers to put the guy down, it makes him look strong. And if Triple H felt that he had to Pedigree the guy three times in a row, not even stopping to go for a pin before trying to pin him, just to make sure he was down, it means that Triple H thinks this guy is a tough SOB, which gets the guy over.kiel297 wrote: A burial is three pedigrees in succession with no interference and no pins, and CM Punk just dying.

yea i kinda see your point,,if the three pedigrees were during a beatdown with a group or something,,just nailin him one after one it would be burying himBig Red Machine wrote:Three Pedigrees in succession is not a burial. I'm not talking three pedigrees because he thinks he needs it. That's not burying. I'm talking three pedigrees in succession despite the fact that one would suffice, because he can.

Punk didn't get buried, he's been slowly losing momentum ever since SummerSlam. Punk needs a heel to go back and forth with to get him over, but Hunter's been stealing his pops in every single segment they have. That's why people think Punk is being buried. He's not being buried, they're just booking this terribly. Punk needs a heel to go back and forth with to make him the babyface they want him to be. Pairing him with Hunter was a terrible idea.
As for losing the match, I don't think he got buried at all. He took several pedigrees and interference's. Punk and Hunter went back and forth pretty well throughout the match, he just ended up losing. Everybody loses, everybody poops.

Even so, I wouldn't see that as a burial. In that case it is Triple H acting like a heel, getting heat on him and giving the fans a desire to see Punk get revenge. Getting buried would be getting very little offense in for most of the match, having his finisher kicked out of multiple times, etc.kiel297 wrote:I'm not talking three pedigrees because he thinks he needs it. I think they want it to be a slow-burn, though. They don't want Punk to become a babyface right away. They want him to transition from heel to tweener to babyface, and the way they built up to this match does that well. Did Punk get screwed over by Nash at Summer Slam? Yeah. And Punk's skepticism about Tripe H and Nash not being in cahoots was entirely understandable. But it turns out that they actually weren't working together, so it turns out that Punk was angry at Triple H for reason, and Punk had been constantly taking shots at Triple H, which, for no real reason other than to bother Triple H, transitioned into him taking shots at Steph, who had nothing to do with anything. To a reasonable person, both men are right, and both had good reason to be pissed.yourcrapsweak wrote:Punk didn't get buried, he's been slowly losing momentum ever since SummerSlam. Now that he was a heel, then became a tweener, Punk has now been screwed over by some more heels (R-Truth breaking up his pin), so he can start to become a babyface.

Personally, I find that when the wrestler I want to win doesn't I get a little agitated and I tend to like the match a whole lot less. I think the fact that Punk lost blinds them to the completely acceptable circumstances of his loss.
There was a saying I saw on Youtube it said something like...
I'm fine with Punk losing, it took X and X to finally put him down. He can't win all the time because then he'd be Super Cena burying Del Rio.
It made me smile.
