BRM Reviews the 8/29/2011 Raw
TRIPLE H ANNOUNCES THAT THE SMACKDOWN GUYS ARE NOW GOING TO BE ON RAW- BOOOOOOOOOO!!! All this will do is steal time from the Raw midcarders.
TRIPLE H, KEVIN NASH, & CM PUNK- AWESOME!
RANDY ORTON vs. DOLPH ZIGGLER (w/Vicky Guerrero)- 6.75/10. Sick RKO.
CENA PROMO- Good
BUILD UP FOR CHRISTIAN & HENRY vs. SHEAMUS & CENA- great.
CM PUNK vs. THE MIZ- 6.5/10. I liked the aftermath, too.
JACK SWAGGER vs. SIN CARA- no rating, but frustrating, since we saw basically the same thing last week.
WWE TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH: Air Boom(c) vs. Otunga & McGillicutty- 3/10. WAY too short.
KELLY KELLY (w/Eve Torres) vs. NIKKI BELLA (w/Brie Bella)- 2.25/10
Having the camera on Beth & Nattie and staying on them for so long bothered me from a kayfabe “this isn’t scripted” POV.
MARK HENRY & CHRISTIAN vs. JOHN CENA & SHEAMUS- 7/10. GREAT for a six and a half minute match.
PUNK WILL FACE TRIPLE H, NOT NASH- I don’t like this because it denies Punk & Nash the resolution that they need. It makes sense, kayfabe-wise, though, but I would have liked to see Triple H struggle more with the dilemma of “if I step back into the ring, do I trust myself to be able to be objective as the COO.
Overall, this episode of Raw wasn’t great, but it wasn’t bad, either.

Re: BRM Reviews the 8/29/2011 Raw
I agree with all points. At first I was kind of excited to hear that the Smackdown guys would be on RAW, but I thought it was just going to be for one show, not for an extended period of time (apparently I'm attention deficit and missed Triple H say that until later). Having realized this, I'm disappointed 'cause the midcard guys I would love to see succeed are just gonna get squashed some more.
I kinda like seeing Punk and Triple H though, and the match excites me, but that's also because I never saw Nash wrestle and I grew up watching Triple H, so he's a guy I'm familiar with. However, I bet that this is gonna put more tension on Triple H and Nash as we saw on Super Smackdown, and it feels like its gonna be something important here in a few weeks when this angle really develops between the two of them. It might be interesting to see a Nash vs. Punk vs. Triple H in the future.
Just my thoughts.

my only problem with this, mainly in a non-kayfabe way is why go to the trouble to announce Nash vs Punk if they already knew Nash wasn't clear to wrestleBig Red Machine wrote: PUNK WILL FACE TRIPLE H, NOT NASH- I don’t like this because it denies Punk & Nash the resolution that they need. i didn't like the opening segment with HHH, Nash, & Punk; it was all just too juvenile with Punk faking the vomiting and HHH ending it saying "I got two words for ya." Maybe I just expected more; the rest of the show was pretty good though.
the Super SD! was better, imo

completely forgot about that bit, i hated it. Punk seemed soo stupid, I just think it lasted too long. The "suck it" bit however, i liked it, it kinda helped Punk's argument that Triple H still can't manage to separate Wrestling Trips with COO Trips.badnewzxl wrote:i didn't like the opening segment with HHH, Nash, & Punk; it was all just too juvenile with Punk faking the vomiting and HHH ending it saying "I got two words for ya." It all felt VERY childish to me; the SD! face off between these guys was much bettercero2k wrote:completely forgot about that bit, i hated it. Punk seemed soo stupid, I just think it lasted too long. Re: BRM Reviews the 8/29/2011 Raw
Am I the only one who thinks the whole Punk vs. Nash being changed to Punk vs. Hunter is a work? It makes kayfabe sense because Triple H could have changed his mind during the show after the altercation with him and Punk, and he explained himself on Smackdown, too, which I thought sufficed.
Also, I'm surprised you didn't shit on the Sheamus situation. He's supposed to be injured (the bump he took on the steps is a bump that you should take like a week off for at least), but yet he runs down to the ring and fights like nothing wrong. He didn't sell the injury AT ALL. PLUS, why did Christian get pinned? He's supposed to be in the main event of the next "Supershow" that was hyped like crazy in a steel cage match for the heavyweight title in a blowoff match, but yet he jobs to Sheamus and Cena the night before? Stupid booking.

I also thought it went on a bit too long, but it was one small blip in an otherwise awesome segment.cero2k wrote:completely forgot about that bit, i hated it. Which Sheamus bump? I missed last week's SD.yourcrapsweak wrote:Am I the only one who thinks the whole Punk vs. Nash being changed to Punk vs. Hunter is a work? Henry hit his finisher on the steel steps. That's why Sheamus's ribs were taped up.Big Red Machine wrote:Which Sheamus bump? Oh. I honestly didn't even notice the ribs. Yeah. They should have at least sold that during the match, or had Henry get the win with a bearhug or something.yourcrapsweak wrote:Henry hit his finisher on the steel steps.
