TBM: AJ Styles vs Christopher Daniels

Post by Rabid619 » Jul 9th, '11, 13:57

Both Styles & Daniels have worked in ROH & TNA. They've had many great matches over the years and have exchanged the X-Division title a few times. Styles is a multiple time World Champion in TNA while Daniels has not won a world title yet. Who is the Better Man?

Daniels by a hair. I think AJ is better in the ring, but Daniels never got to show what he had for a long time. I am giving it to Daniels, though, because he can play a great heel and AJ can't.

I voted AJ, but I'm not really sure why. I think it's because I've been exposed more to his work than Daniels', and AJ super impressed me in his match with Bobby Roode (I think it was last week's Impact?). I'd like to see more of Daniels, but as soon as I start watching TNA again they stop using all the guys I wanted to see. >.<

Technically, AJ is just a little bit better than Daniels.

In terms of selling a character, Daniels by a long shot.

Overall, I voted for Daniels.

AJ by a foot. AJ plays a great face and a good heel (not a good top heel, but a decent supporting heel. I think he was great with Christian and Flair bc it makes sense that a younger guy would listen to veterans who claim they can help him reach the next level. I like it even more that AJ is the one who turned on them both).

Daniels is a great heel, but NOT a good face all around.

Both have EXCELLENT matches, but AJ's are better.

Daniels by far. AJ's a piece of sh*t who doesn't sell for anybody and only cares about getting his spots in. He can wrestle when he wants but that's not what he wants. This is coming from what I see and my friend who has actually wrestled him before.

The part about not selling is absolute bullshit. I don't know how his match with your friend was, but from what I've seen, AJ is one of the absolute best young talents in wrestling today. ALL his TNA and ROH career he's sold me EVERY time. I may not be the most jaded wrestling fan, but I'm surely not nearly the most naive.

Watch his Iron Man match with Bobby Roode. Roode worked on the leg the whole match, and at the end he just springboards like it's nothing. He does this just about every time.

I don't wanna call out my friend, but he told me right before their match, AJ takes a bowl of weed, takes a huge puff, and goes "let's go." Right before their match as they're about to go out. And during the match (I've seen it) he didn't do anything to protect him or anything, it was all about getting his spots in.

That did happen in the iron man match, but he still sold throughout the match. He forgets to sell one spot and suddenly he NEVER sells? That's a ridiculous exaggeration. He sold well that entire match and pretty much every time I've seen him. He sold wonderfully esp when Immortal and Bully Ray injured his neck.

Obviously, AJ didn't give a shit about your friend or much about getting him over in the match they had. That sucks; but that doesn't mean you accuse him of something that's visibly untrue and unsupported. Yeah he gets his spots in; god forbid he delivers with the things that his fans expect from him. How dare he....
