once known as Mistico in Mexico, he now wears the mask of Sin Cara. Triple H's first new talent he's brought in to the WWE. A lot of hype surrounds him, is he worth it??

Re: 2 cents: Sin Cara
He's not a good fit for WWE. Nobody is a good pair with him in a WWE ring, his style is too different.
It reminds me of Ken Shamrock when he first came into WWE. His style was so different, they were having a hard time pairing him up with somebody to make him look good. They paired him with Vader, and they killed each other. Eventually Shamrock got better, but it took a while to adjust.

Re: 2 cents: Sin Cara
I like Sin Cara, i like the idea that he's here to replace Mysterio. I like that he's not much different from Mistico.
I do believe that he was one of those guys that really needed time in FCW, not a lot, but enough to get around the ropes of American wrestling, or better said, Sports entertainment.
What i do think is that he needs to change his moveset. at least don't expect to have people doing la mistica. and get him some move for the larger guys.

If he's as a great as they make him seem than why are there so many issues with him? If they felt they needed to bring in someone who could wrestle his style with him, they should have left him in FCW for a bit instead of bringing him up this quickly.

He is great, but he's a great wrestler, not sports entertainer. He has potential to be a great sports entertainer, but he just has to make that transition first. You're right, FCW would have been good.Rabid619 wrote:If he's as a great as they make him seem than why are there so many issues with him? I word my response wrong. He is great but the fact that theres been so many issues with him in the ring should be evidence enough that he should have stayed in FCW a little longer. I get them wanting to push him right off the bat but it's obviously not working the way it could. I'm not talking about his apparent attitude problems which were probably a rumor. He's worked with a few different people, Chavo & Primo come to mind first, and it hasnt gone as well as it should have. Also with that entrance he has, the one where he jumps on the trampoline, they should just stop it if they havent already. It's been botched more than once and they could easily do something thats awesome without using a trampoline.yourcrapsweak wrote:He is great, but he's a great wrestler, not sports entertainer. just run down to the ring like now and jump right onto the apron and jump straight over the ropesRabid619 wrote:I word my response wrong. When they come, they'll come at what you love.

I like watching his matches for the most part, but when he botches, it's noticeable and takes away from the overall impact of the match. The lighting bothers me, but that's not him (at least I hope not...). His style is new and different, but that the same time feels a bit familiar to me, perhaps having watched Rey Mysterio in his younger years. I like him, but I think he needs a bit more work.

Re: 2 cents: Sin Cara
I just watched his OTL rematch with Chavo. I think he uses springboard moves too often. More than a third of his moves were springboard moves. But, he's still not too bad. He'll be a good replacement for Mysterio.
Btw, the lighting in his matches, I like it. It takes away attention from everywhere else, and keeps the attention in the ring. I always thought the show needed to dark it down a little. I wouldn't mind if they used that lighting from now on.

Okay so according to the WWE Universe, they'll never have seen some of his flippery & stuff... all the same though, nothing has made me go "wow"... and he still has no character... he's a mexican supserstar... yes we know this... but what else?
Rey had a character... Sin Cara lacks this... could be his problem, could be why the crowd is still fairly silent and unbothered by his arrival.

just wondering, what was Mysterio's character before he won the title and became the ultimate underdogLynas wrote: Rey had a character... Sin Cara lacks this... could be his problem, could be why the crowd is still fairly silent and unbothered by his arrival.

Was he still a fan favourite with the kids? It seems to me like that's always been his character (at least that I can remember, 'cause he's had that for so lnng), it's hard to imagine what it would have been before that.cero2k wrote:just wondering, what was Mysterio's character before he won the title and became the ultimate underdogLynas wrote: Rey had a character... Re: 2 cents: Sin Cara
Rey didnt have that connection then that he does now. When he started out in the WWE he was the fast paced mid carder Rey Mysterio. Now he's the giant slayer Rey Mysterio who is in main event matches.

Re: 2 cents: Sin Cara
I think they shouldn't push him as a new Rey, they should actually let him be himself. That, I think is the problem with wrestling as a whole nowadays, everybody wants somebody to be "the next [wrestler x]"
Reality TV is faker than "fake" wrestling!

Re: 2 cents: Sin Cara
I've yet to be impressed with Sin Cara. Even before he made his WWE debut, I checked out a few Mystico matches on YouTube and didn't see what the big deal was. Seems like they could have signed any one of a handfull of Lucha guys and got the same results.
I know, from a business point of view, WWE's goal with him is to sell masks. Hence all the "Next Rey Mysterio" hoopla. I don't see this happening with Cara in his current package. With his mask hiding ALL of his facial features and his inability to cut a promo in English, it's going to be very difficult to build a connection with the audience (to sell masks). They've tried changing the lighting for his matches, which bothers me. It bothers in the same way it bothers me when they loop New Jack's theme song during his matches. Great song and cool lights, but why should their respective entrances extend through their entire matches? It doesn't make any sense!
Ultimately, I don't think Sin Cara is as talented as Kaval whom they "had nothing for". While I try to keep an open mind, I'm likely taking this frustration out on Sin Cara.
