The AEW roster member was described as one "who is known to be under contract."

WWE is alleged to have reached out to a "notable" member of the AEW roster.
According to a report from Fightful Select, an unnamed wrestler has informed AEW management that they were contacted by WWE regarding working for them. The AEW roster member was described as one "who is known to be under contract" and a full-time performer with the company.
The unnamed talent informed AEW management of the situation because they felt the company's higher-ups deserved to know. They also informed AEW that they have no interest in leaving and told WWE they are happy where they are.
The report continues to say "the claim was" it was a member of WWE's Talent Relations department that made contact with the AEW talent.
WWE has brought back multiple previously released wrestlers in recent weeks. These include Karrion Kross, Scarlett Bourdeaux, Dakota Kai, as well as Hit Row's Top Dolla, B-Fab, and Ashante Thee Adonis. It is not clear if the AEW talent in question is a former WWE talent, however.

This stuff happens all the time, but it's technically illegal, so WWE would have to be massive idiots to have done it in a way that doesn't have plausible deniability.

Which is probably why its not a scandal. Because if the talent relations person was smart and simply having an open conversation which included a generic "would you ever return to the WWE?" there's plausible deniablity around whether or not they were head hunting over just taking an interest in someone's life and therefore no legal case is really viable.Big Red Machine wrote: ↑Aug 16th, '22, 16:40 This stuff happens all the time, but it's technically illegal, so WWE would have to be massive idiots to have done it in a way that doesn't have plausible deniability.
If there were many questions like "when's your contract up?" "Can we get first dibs on negotiations?" "tell us about your AEW contract" then it would be a bigger deal. I imagine Hunter has got his department making all kinds of "innocent" enquiries because that's exactly what anyone would do.
I imagine Hunter will have already spoken to Regal in private about getting him back on the team.
Have A Nice Day!
