Charlotte Flair gives details on WWE absence, reason for surgery

In late-June, Charlotte Flair was written off WWE TV after an attack on her arm by Nia Jax, called a potential collarbone fracture in storyline.

At the time, our Dave Meltzer reported that Flair was having surgery but didn't have any details other than she was hopeful for SummerSlam but not guaranteed.

On Sunday, Flair took to Twitter while she had some free time and her air conditioning was broken to explain the situation, the surgery she's having, and how she hopes her story will dissuade future body shaming for her and others.

The 34-year-old said that following WrestleMania in 2018, she was "sicker than sick" at her brother's house in Charlotte, NC, with a doctor telling her that one of her breast implants was leaking and likely causing silicone poisoning, some of the worst he had ever seen. She was given several recovery options and picked the one that allowed her to return the soonest.

Several months ago, she started feeling "off" and was told the same issue was happening. She said she is now "going with an option that I believe will solve the issue long time, even though the recovery period is a little longer than I would like." She clarified she does not have poisoning this time around, but the surgery is cosmetic to fix an issue from a prior surgery.

She gave no timeline for a return, saying, "I’ll be back when I’m ready. The body will be rested, and the mind still focused on legacy. Focused on this job. Focused on being better. Always being better."

Hopefully she won't come back crazy like when OVW did this as a storyline with Jillian Hall in which they said that the silicone "leaked into her brain," causing her to become a crazy heel.
