Season 2 of Viceland's 'Dark Side of the Ring' debuting in late-March

The second season of Viceland's 'Dark Side of The Ring' docuseries focusing on some of the seedier and infamous stories throughout the history of pro wrestling is going to return in late-March.

The news was first reported by PWInsider and confirmed independently with sources close to the show. There is no exact date for the season kickoff as of this point.

While season one featured six episodes, season two will be ten episodes with nine subjects meaning one will be two hours instead of their customary one. Some of the topics confirmed include:

The Chris Benoit story (expected to be the two hour focus)(
Brawl For All
The life and times of Dino Bravo
New Jack
Herb Abrams, founder of the UWF
The life and times of Owen Hart
The season two renewal was announced last summer as the series did very well for the Viceland channel, setting their record for the highest viewed premiere in their three year history.

Season one featured the Montreal Screwjob, the bizarre relationship between Randy Savage and Elizabeth, the Fabulous Moolah, the life and times of Bruiser Brody, the life and times of Gino Hernandez, and the legacy and tragedy of the Von Erich family.

This seems like a good time to cheaply plug that this week's episode of Between the Sheets was chosen (via Patreon donation) by yours truly to look at the week of February 19-25, 2002, in part because it was during this week that New Jack tried to murder (by his own admission) Vic Grimes at an XPW show as revenge for the Danbury Fall. Give it a listen. I've been promised that it's great (mostly for the WWA craziness).

Season two of Vice's Dark Side of the Ring is officially set to premiere later this month.

The professional wrestling docuseries will return to Vice TV with a two-hour season premiere on Tuesday, March 24. The episode will air at 9 p.m. Eastern time and will focus on the Chris Benoit double murder-suicide. Benoit's son David and Nancy Benoit's sister Sandra Toffoloni were interviewed for the episode.

Chris Jericho is the new narrator for Dark Side of the Ring. A weekly after-show hosted by comedian Chris Gethard will air weekly on Tuesdays at 11 p.m. Eastern time. Vice hyped that the after-show will feature "a panel of guests from the worlds of wrestling and entertainment who will dissect the episodes. Fans will get to see dynamic conversations with insiders and experts, exclusive unseen clips and behind-the-scenes moments."

The eight other episodes in Dark Side of the Ring season two are an hour-long and will air on Tuesdays at 10 p.m. Eastern time. The topics that will be covered are:
