Enzo and Big Cass make appearance at ROH-NJPW G1 Supercard

Former WWE wrestlers Enzo Amore and Big Cass made an appearance at Saturday's ROH-NJPW G1 Supercard show at MSG that might not be their last.
We are told the appearance was a work, but it's unknown if the duo has signed a deal with Ring of Honor or New Japan Pro Wrestling but more likely the former.
Following the IWGP tag team title match with the Guerillas of Destiny, Villain Enterprises, EVIL and SANADA, and the Briscoes, Enzo and Cass jumped the rail and started throwing punches with the Briscoes and then Bully Ray. Security, however, didn't get involved.
The action wasn't shown on the broadcast nor on the video boards inside the arena. Fans booed the duo heavily.
Amore (Eric Arndt) was released from WWE in January 2018 following sexual assault allegations. While the Phoenix, AZ, police department closed the case due to insufficient evidence, he was not rehired. He did make a scene at Survivor Series in Los Angeles last November by trying to get to ringside, but was escorted out quickly by security.
Cass (Will Morrissey) was released by WWE in June 2018 after issues with management. He has been working as Big Cazz and Big C on indies and had a seizure in December while doing an appearance at a House of Hardcore show.

TERRIBLE move if indeed ROH planned this out. They NEED to address this ASAP otherwise before it hurts them

Why in the world anyone WILLINGLY wants to be associated with them after all the bad press (with Enzo specifically) is beyond me. I wouldn't touch them with a ten foot pole.
Re: Enzo and Big Cass make appearance at ROH-NJPW G1 Supercard
Because it's Ring of Honor and it's WWE branded guys that the Briscoes can beat.Serujuunin wrote: ↑Apr 7th, '19, 00:17 Why in the world anyone WILLINGLY wants to be associated with them after all the bad press (with Enzo specifically) is beyond me. I wouldn't touch them with a ten foot pole.
I get what you're saying, but all things considered I think it's a good fit.
I mean, they're not being brought in as catch-phrase spouting babyfaces, these are two guys that ROH fans already hate before even opening their mouths... and they're talkers, so...
I can absolutely see what ROH is thinking. The specific bad press they've got only really matters on a WWE scale. Nobody is going to boycott ROH because of domestic allegations from a year ago.

I never meant to imply that they would, but I just don’t believe that either of them have grown up since their respective incidents occurred, and the potential is there for them to embarrass their employers- whomever that is- again. I wouldn’t want any part of it. The story-telling part is fine, I get it. But just the way they behave puts a bad taste in my mouth and I worry they’re not done being children.Bob-O wrote: ↑Apr 7th, '19, 08:12Because it's Ring of Honor and it's WWE branded guys that the Briscoes can beat.Serujuunin wrote: ↑Apr 7th, '19, 00:17 Why in the world anyone WILLINGLY wants to be associated with them after all the bad press (with Enzo specifically) is beyond me. This is like bringing in The Beautiful People, but with no real upside. So yeah... terrible f*cking move.

Re: Enzo and Big Cass make appearance at ROH-NJPW G1 Supercard
Both this signing and the way it was shot (or, rather, not shot) fit in with some things Bully Ray said a few weeks ago about ROH needing to "sign people who you wouldn't expect them to sign" and what seems to be his own mentality about the way to do a worked shoot (which isn't wrong, but it's also something that ROH doens't need to be doing). So this is yet another thing to blame on Bully Ray.

thing is, i know that at least the Beautiful People can talk and make something, hell, give Angelina Love a decent wrestler and they can have a good match. TBP can carry themselves with personality which is 100% missing from the WOH.Big Red Machine wrote: ↑Apr 7th, '19, 10:15 This is like bringing in The Beautiful People, but with no real upside. Enzo and Cass are just going to completely piss off people, like cancel the network type of pissed off. If you think Impact doesn't learn from their mistakes, not even they would have done this. This is some 09 TNA shit right here.

I'd argue that it's probably a little worse than 2009 TNA stuff in terms of decision-making, though the execution is better. I really don't understand how ROH can not realize how toxic Enzo in particular is, while Cass just seems so clearly below the level of many of the other big guys out there (Cody Hall, anyone?).cero2k wrote: ↑Apr 7th, '19, 12:33thing is, i know that at least the Beautiful People can talk and make something, hell, give Angelina Love a decent wrestler and they can have a good match. Haven't seen his NOAH stuff, but I'd even get Cody Hall than Cass. I've heard reports that the dude is really out of shapeBig Red Machine wrote: ↑Apr 7th, '19, 12:36
